Gubug Station: Small but Mighty! The Lifeline of Grobogan Residents That Never Tires
Who says small stations are less important? Meet Gubug Station (GUB) in Grobogan Regency, Central Java! Although it is only a Class III or small station, its role for residents of Gubug District and surrounding areas is truly vital—it is their main gateway for daily mobility.
Strategically located on the line between Semarang and Ngrombo, more than 60 trains pass through here every day. But the main star is of course the Kedung Sepur Train (Semarang Poncol – Ngrombo round trip), which is the favorite of workers and students.
Imagine, every month, Gubug Station serves around 1,500 passengers! These are people who rely on trains to carry out their activities to nearby cities such as Semarang, Purwodadi, and Solo.
Anne Purba, Vice President of Public Relations at KAI, emphasized that the presence of this station is not just about transportation, but also a driver of the local economy, especially in trade and education sectors. Even though it is small, its basic facilities are adequate and always maintained by KAI.
KAI has more than 600 active stations in Java and Sumatra, and Gubug Station has a unique role for the surrounding community, said Anne.
Anne added that Gubug Station is not only a place for passengers to board and alight, but has become part of the daily heartbeat of Grobogan residents. The trains serving from here help people work, go to school, and stay connected with others. Cool, right!
In essence, KAI is proud to serve and remains committed to continuously improving service quality at all stations, no matter how big or small.
