The atmosphere of Independence Month is now part of the railway journey. Red and white elements are appearing on selected intercity train sets through a special livery created to enliven the celebration of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

The special livery can be found on KA Pandalungan 2 serving the Jember–Gambir round-trip route, KA Argo Wilis and KA Turangga serving the Bandung–Surabaya Gubeng round-trip route, as well as KA Gajayana serving the Malang–Gambir round-trip route.

With its red-and-white appearance, these train sets bring the atmosphere of Independence Day celebrations across various cities in Java. Journeys from Jember to Jakarta, Bandung to Surabaya, and Malang to Jakarta now feature a distinctive visual touch throughout Independence Month.

The livery carries the spirit of the official theme of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia in 2026, “Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia.” The Independence visual identity is displayed on the exterior of the train sets to create a festive atmosphere that customers can experience even before their journey begins.

The presence of this special livery makes the experience at the station and throughout the journey feel even more distinctive. Trains are not only a mode of transportation connecting one city to another, but also carry the national spirit through the journeys taken by people every day.

The routes also illustrate how train travel has become part of people’s daily activities. Some travel to meet family, go to work, continue their education, enjoy a holiday, or carry out various economic activities.

The excitement of the Red and White travels from one region to another. From East Java, Central Java, and West Java to Jakarta, customers’ journeys become part of the Independence Day atmosphere throughout August.

The special livery also offers a new way to experience a national moment through travel. The red-and-white appearance on the train body creates a sense of togetherness while serving as a reminder that connectivity between regions continues to be part of Indonesia’s journey.

This spirit is reflected in the message, “The Red and White Keeps Moving Forward, 81 Years of Indonesia, One Spirit of the Nation’s Journey.”

For customers travelling along the Jember–Jakarta, Bandung–Surabaya, and Malang–Jakarta routes, this Independence Month offers a more special travel experience. The Red and White is not only present across celebration venues, but is also moving along the rails and accompanying journeys from one city to another.
