KAI Stations Have Drinking Water Stations, Safe and Ready for Consumption

KAI continues to innovate for the comfort and health of its customers. One of the latest innovations is the provision of drinking water stations at 22 stations since July 2024. This is not just an ordinary facility, but also part of KAI’s commitment to support the reduction of plastic bottle usage and move toward achieving net zero emissions.
According to Vice President Public Relations of KAI Anne Purba, KAI is working together with Coway International Indonesia and the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) to ensure the quality of water at the drinking water stations meets strict health standards. The drinking water in this facility has passed various quality tests, making it safe for consumption.
“KAI doesn’t just want to provide drinking water, but also ensures that the water is of high quality and healthy for passengers. The drinking water at the drinking water station has met all 20 standard quality parameters tested by the Coway Water Quality Laboratory. In addition, this water is also halal certified by MUI,” said Anne.
Several water quality testing parameters include microbiological tests such as E. coli and total coliform bacteria, physical tests that examine temperature, turbidity, and odor, as well as chemical tests that include levels of substances such as nitrate, iron, and lead. All of this is done to ensure that the water provided is truly safe and of high quality.
Anne also emphasized that KAI will continue to support environmental conservation and eco-friendly movements as part of its efforts to provide the best service for train passengers. This is a real step by KAI in creating a better and more environmentally friendly railway transport ecosystem for the Indonesian public.
So, while waiting for your train at the station, don’t forget to take advantage of the available drinking water stations!
