For people who frequently travel by train, they may have encountered groups of kindergarten, elementary, or junior high school students gathering at stations, waiting in line to board trains while being guided by KAI officers who provide information about railway operations. They are participants in Edutrain, an educational program usually attended by students from schools located around railway stations.

KAI facilitates this activity for schools and students as part of its railway and public transportation education program for children.

During this activity, students are invited to explore the station facilities and services provided by KAI, as well as meet railway personnel from various professions working at stations and onboard trains.

Students are also taught the procedures for traveling by train, starting from purchasing tickets either online or directly at the station counter, the check-in process, boarding procedures, and finding their train number and assigned seats.

While experiencing KAI services during an actual train journey, accompanying officers provide important information about railways, including travel etiquette and regulations, railway crossing safety awareness, and the prohibition of vandalism.

Edutrain activities are primarily aimed at students, but they may also be organized for general participants in the future.

"We hope this Edutrain activity can become an educational platform about railways, especially for students and the public in general. After participating in this activity, we hope awareness of safety—whether at stations, during train journeys, or along railway lines—will increase.

We also hope this activity can foster a sense of appreciation and love among the younger generation for rail-based mass transportation, encouraging everyone to help maintain railway facilities and infrastructure for shared safety," concluded Joni.

Students or members of the public who wish to participate in Edutrain activities only need to submit a request letter along with a contact number to the relevant Operational Area (Daop), Regional Division (Divre), or the destination station.
