Getting to know more about KAI is now easier with a fresher digital experience. Coinciding with the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) officially unveiled the new look of its corporate website, kai.id, on Monday (17/8) at KAI Headquarters Auditorium in Bandung.

Featuring a more modern, structured, and integrated design, kai.id serves as a one-stop information gateway where the public can explore more about KAI, from services and products to business units, sustainability initiatives, and the company’s railway heritage.

The launch is part of KAI’s digital transformation efforts to make public access to information easier while strengthening the company’s connection with the community. The initiative also aligns with the theme of Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day, “A Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia.”

KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin said technological developments and changing public habits in accessing information require the company to continuously adapt by providing digital channels that are easy to use, informative, responsive, and relevant.

KAI’s website must be able to answer the public’s need for information that is easy to find, clear, and relevant. We introduced the new face of kai.id so the public can get to know KAI’s services and developments more comprehensively through an improved digital experience.

Public interest in KAI-related information is also reflected in the high number of visitors to kai.id. Based on data from KAI’s Information Technology Team, the website recorded 49.4 million visitors over the one-year period through August 2026.

The figure reflects the strong level of public interaction with KAI’s corporate digital channel. As a result, user experience became an important consideration in developing the new kai.id, including making information easier to access, more comfortable to explore, and simpler to navigate.

Beyond serving as an information hub, kai.id continues to provide access to travel transactions. From January to July 2026, cumulative transactions for Mainline and Local Trains through the website reached 118,471 transactions, representing 0.71%. Meanwhile, throughout January–December 2025, website transactions reached 347,315 transactions, or 1.34%.

Behind its fresh new look, kai.id has been developed as KAI’s information gateway, bringing together information on products, services, business units, and corporate programs within a single platform.

The information structure has been redesigned to make it easier for visitors to find what they are looking for through a more streamlined journey. Navigation is also enhanced through a Mega Menu that brings services, business units, and corporate information together in a single interaction.

We want people visiting kai.id to quickly find the information they need. With tens of millions of visits, easy navigation is an important part of the quality of KAI’s communication with the public.

Another key improvement is the availability of kai.id in two languages: Indonesian and English. Previously, the KAI website provided information only in Indonesian.

The bilingual feature expands access to KAI’s information, including for international audiences, partners, academics, researchers, and other stakeholders who want to learn more about KAI.

The browsing experience has also been made more convenient through strategically placed Call to Action (CTA) features across the website. These features help visitors quickly access KAI’s subdomains, subsidiaries, and various digital platforms.

This makes it easier for users to move from one piece of information to a related service without having to go through multiple steps.

The range of information available on kai.id has also been expanded. Visitors can now explore information on Access by KAI, freight transportation, technology, assets and commercial opportunities, sustainability, and heritage.

For heritage, KAI has introduced a dedicated page that was not previously available. Through this dedicated digital space, visitors can explore stories, history, and the legacy of Indonesia’s railway journey.

The new kai.id is also supported by a more modern design, clearer content hierarchy, and greater space for presenting corporate data and documents. These improvements are designed to help the public, media, academics, researchers, partners, and stakeholders access corporate information according to their respective needs.

Bobby said the development of kai.id follows a World-Class Digital Experience concept, featuring a modern, clean, and professional interface with information presented in a more structured way.

The initiative is part of KAI’s broader transformation to enhance the quality of digital interactions while strengthening transparency and public trust.

For us, the quality of a digital channel determines how easily the public can get to know KAI. We want kai.id to grow into a credible, easy-to-navigate information reference that can reach an even broader audience.
