Starting 18 May 2022, Long-Distance Train Passengers with Second Dose Vaccination Do Not Need Covid-19 Screening
Long-Distance Train passengers who have received the second dose (complete) or third dose (booster) vaccination are not required to present negative results of an RT-PCR or Rapid Test Antigen during the boarding process. This policy applies starting from departures on 18 May 2022.
This rule adjusts to the issuance of the Ministry of Transportation's Circular Letter (SE) Number 57 of 2022 concerning Guidelines for Domestic Travel by Railway Transportation during the Covid-19 Pandemic dated 18 May 2022.

Verification of train passenger documents during the ticket boarding process
“KAI supports all government policies for train travel during the Covid-19 pandemic. This relaxation of health protocols is expected to become a turning point for the resurgence of rail transportation and contribute to the national economic recovery,” said KAI VP Public Relations Joni Martinus.
Below are the complete requirements for traveling using the latest Long-Distance and Local Trains:
Requirements for Riding Long-Distance Trains
a) Second dose (complete) and third dose (booster) do not need to show negative results of Covid-19 screening.

To streamline the verification process, KAI has integrated its ticketing system with the PeduliLindungi application to validate passenger vaccination data and Covid-19 test results. Consequently, this data can be immediately known by KAI during ticket booking through KAI Access, the KAI web, and during boarding.
Regarding the mask mandate on public transportation modes, passengers are still required to wear masks during the train journey and while at the station. The mask used must be a 3-layer cloth mask or a medical mask that covers the nose, mouth, and chin. Passengers must change their masks routinely every 4 hours and dispose of mask waste in the provided receptacles. Passengers are urged not to speak one-way or two-way via phone or directly throughout the journey.
To board the train, passengers must be in healthy condition (not suffering from flu, colds, coughs, loss of smell, diarrhea, and fever), and their body temperature must not exceed 37.3 degrees Celsius.
"As a form of service enhancement, KAI provides a healthy kit containing a mask and wet wipes to Long-Distance Train passengers free of charge," Joni stated.
