KAI Re-Emphasizes Train Boarding Requirements Ahead of Homecoming Flow
Angkutan Lebaran KAI pada 26 April 2022 ini telah memasuki masa H-6 Lebaran. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) terus mengingatkan kembali kepada seluruh pelanggan agar mematuhi KAI's Lebaran Transportation on April 26, 2022, has entered the D-6 phase of Lebaran. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) continues to remind all customers to comply with train boarding requirements ahead of the peak mudik (homecoming) flow on April 30 or D-2 of Lebaran.
“We need to continuously convey these train boarding requirements during the Lebaran Transportation period to customers, especially those who rarely travel by train or who only use trains during mudik, so that the train journey to their hometowns goes orderly and comfortably,” said KAI VP Public Relations Joni Martinus.
Current train travel rules adjust to the Ministry of Transportation's Circular Letters (SE) Number 39 and 49 of 2022. Below are the complete travel requirements for using Long-Distance Trains:
a) Third dose (booster) vaccination does not need to show negative results of Covid-19 screening.
b) Second dose vaccination must show a negative result from a Rapid Test Antigen within 1x24 hours or an RT-PCR test within 3x24 hours.
c) First dose vaccination must show a negative result from an RT-PCR test within 3x24 hours.
d) Not/not yet vaccinated due to medical reasons must show a doctor's certificate from a government hospital and a negative result from an RT-PCR test within 3x24 hours.
e) Customers aged 6-17 years who have received their second dose vaccination are not required to show negative results of an RT-PCR test or Rapid Test Antigen.
f) Customers under 6 years old are not required to be vaccinated and are not required to show a negative Rapid Test Antigen or RT-PCR result, but must be accompanied by an escort who meets the travel requirements.
"Customers who do not fulfill the requirements will be denied boarding and are welcome to cancel their tickets," Joni emphasized.
To streamline the verification process, KAI has integrated its ticketing system with the PeduliLindungi application to validate passenger vaccination data and Covid-19 test results. Consequently, this data can be immediately known by KAI during ticket booking through KAI Access, the KAI web, and during boarding.
Customers are required to wear masks, wash hands with soap under running water, maintain distance, avoid crowds, reduce mobility, avoid eating together, and use hand sanitizer. Customers must be in healthy condition (not suffering from flu, colds, coughs, loss of smell, diarrhea, and fever), and their body temperature must not exceed 37.3 degrees Celsius.
Customers must use a 3-layer cloth mask or a medical mask that covers the nose and mouth. Passengers are also not permitted to speak one-way or two-way via phone or directly throughout the journey. Eating and drinking are not allowed during journeys that take less than 2 hours, except for individuals who must consume medicine as part of a treatment that, if not taken, could endanger their health and safety, and for breaking the fast.
To help customers implement health protocols, KAI distributes a healthy kit containing a mask and wet wipes for free. To provide better protection, KAI has also upgraded the masks provided, which were previously KF94 type, to now become KN95 type. This KN95 mask upgrade is being carried out gradually in line with KAI's commitment to becoming a public transportation mode that hosts the 2022 Lebaran Transportation safely, comfortably, and healthily.
“We also advise customers not to bring excessive luggage or overly conspicuous valuables, and to allocate sufficient time when heading to the departure station so they do not miss their train,” Joni said.
On departures for April 25 or D-7 of Lebaran, KAI dispatched 70,673 Long-Distance Train customers embarking on early mudik to various destinations. From D-10 to D-7, KAI served a total of 291,090 customers, averaging 72,773 customers per day with an occupancy rate of 63%.
As of April 26, KAI has sold 1,569,523 Long-Distance Train tickets, or 61% of the total tickets provided for the departure period from April 22 to May 13, 2022. The favorite departure dates for the public's homecoming flow are April 29 and April 30, or D-3 and D-2 of Lebaran, with preferred routes originating from Jakarta and Bandung toward Semarang, Surabaya, and Yogyakarta.
