KAI reminds passengers of the health protocols that must be followed when traveling by train during the COVID-19 pandemic, in accordance with the Ministry of Transportation Circular Letter (SE Kemenhub) No. 69 of 2021.

Passengers are required to wear masks, wash their hands with soap and running water, maintain physical distancing, avoid crowds, reduce unnecessary mobility, avoid group dining, and use hand sanitizer.

Passengers must be in good health (not suffering from flu, colds, cough, loss of smell, diarrhea, or fever), and their body temperature must not exceed 37.3 degrees Celsius. Passengers are required to wear a three-layer cloth mask or a medical mask that properly covers the nose and mouth. They are also not allowed to engage in one-way or two-way conversations, either by phone or in person, throughout the journey.

Eating and drinking are not permitted during journeys of less than two hours, except for individuals who must take medication for medical reasons where failure to do so could endanger their health and safety.

To travel on Long-Distance Trains, passengers must have received at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and present either a negative RT-PCR test result taken within a maximum of 2 × 24 hours before departure or a negative Rapid Antigen Test result taken within a maximum of 1 × 24 hours before departure.

For Local Train services, starting from 14 September, passengers are also required to have received at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Meanwhile, STRP documents, official assignment letters, or other travel authorization letters are no longer required for Local Train travel.

KAI has integrated the PeduliLindungi application with its boarding system. This integration was established through collaboration between KAI and the Ministry of Health to simplify the passenger verification process, speed up document inspection, and prevent document forgery.

Passengers with certain medical conditions or comorbidities that prevent them from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine must present a medical certificate issued by a government hospital stating that they have not received and/or are unable to receive the COVID-19 vaccination.

In addition, passengers under the age of 12 are still not permitted to travel by train.

KAI Vice President Public Relations Joni Martinus reminded the public to always comply with the established health protocols. These measures were introduced by the government to ensure that the COVID-19 pandemic remains under control while supporting the recovery of the national economy.

KAI consistently and strictly ensures that all passengers comply with the required health protocols. Only passengers who meet all applicable travel requirements are permitted to board the train.

"Train services remain available to support the mobility of people who still need to travel during the COVID-19 pandemic. KAI continues to comply with all government policies regarding COVID-19 prevention and control in railway transportation," Joni concluded. (Public Relations KAI)
