Rapid Test Antigen Fare at Stations Reduced to Rp45,000 Starting 24 September 2021
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has introduced a new fare for Rapid Test Antigen services at railway stations, reducing the price from Rp85,000 to Rp45,000 per test. The new fare took effect on 24 September 2021 at 64 stations providing Rapid Test Antigen services.
"The fare adjustment is one of KAI's efforts to further improve customer service," said KAI Vice President Public Relations Joni Martinus.
KAI provides affordable Rapid Test Antigen facilities at stations to help prospective passengers meet the travel requirements for Long-Distance Train services.
The availability of Rapid Test Antigen services at stations is the result of a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) synergy between KAI and Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia through its subsidiary Rajawali Nusindo, Indofarma through its subsidiary Farmalab, as well as other partners.

In accordance with the Ministry of Transportation Circular Letter No. 69 of 2021, Long-Distance Train passengers are required to present a Covid-19 vaccination card showing at least the first dose. Passengers must also present a negative RT-PCR test result taken within a maximum of 2 x 24 hours before departure or a negative Rapid Test Antigen result taken within a maximum of 1 x 24 hours before departure. Passengers under the age of 12 were temporarily not permitted to travel.
KAI has integrated its boarding system with the PeduliLindungi application, allowing passengers' vaccination records and Covid-19 test results to appear automatically on the boarding officers' computer screens. This integration aims to make the verification process easier, speed up document checks, and prevent document forgery.
Passengers with special medical conditions or comorbidities that prevent them from receiving the Covid-19 vaccine are required to provide a medical certificate issued by a government hospital stating that they have not yet received or are unable to receive the Covid-19 vaccination.
To travel by train, passengers must be in good health, showing no symptoms such as flu, runny nose, cough, loss of smell, diarrhea, or fever, and must have a body temperature of no more than 37.3 degrees Celsius. Passengers are also required to wear a three-layer cloth mask or a medical mask covering both the nose and mouth. In addition, passengers are not permitted to engage in one-way or two-way conversations, either by telephone or in person, throughout the journey.
Joni emphasized that KAI is committed to ensuring that all Long-Distance Train passengers comply with the travel requirements set by the government. Passengers who do not meet the requirements will not be allowed to board the train, and their tickets will be canceled with a 100% refund.
Rail transportation prioritizes safety by ensuring that passengers travel in a safe and healthy condition while consistently implementing strict health protocols.
"KAI fully supports the government's efforts to conduct Covid-19 screening in railway transportation to help break the chain of Covid-19 transmission," concluded Joni.
