KAI Integrates the PeduliLindungi Application with Its Boarding System to Support the Government's Plan
In preparation for the Government's plan to implement the PeduliLindungi application as a travel requirement for train passengers starting 28 August, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) is ready to support the program.
KAI Vice President Public Relations Joni Martinus explained that KAI is currently awaiting detailed implementation guidelines from the Ministry of Transportation.
"KAI is ready to comply with government regulations and policies and fully supports all efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in railway transportation," said Joni.
Since 23 July 2021, however, KAI has integrated the PeduliLindungi application with its boarding system to assist in validating passengers' health documents. This integration was made possible through collaboration between KAI and the Ministry of Health.
"The integration of the PeduliLindungi application with KAI's boarding system is intended to make the travel process easier for customers, streamline document verification, and prevent document forgery," Joni said.
With this integrated system, passengers' COVID-19 vaccination records and test results, including RT-PCR and Rapid Test Antigen, from the PeduliLindungi application will automatically appear on the boarding officer's screen during the boarding process at the station. This helps simplify and speed up the verification of health documents for Long-Distance Train passengers.
To ensure that vaccination records and COVID-19 test results are successfully displayed in KAI's boarding system, passengers must use the same National Identity Number (NIK) when booking their tickets and when receiving their COVID-19 vaccination or test. In addition, the clinic or laboratory where the RT-PCR or Rapid Test Antigen was conducted must be affiliated with the Ministry of Health.
Once these requirements are met and the data has been uploaded by the service provider to the system, passengers' vaccination records and COVID-19 test results will automatically appear on the boarding officer's computer during the boarding process.
"During boarding, passengers are still required to present their boarding pass, identification card, and any other required travel documents. Passengers are also encouraged to carry their vaccination card and valid negative COVID-19 test certificate in case they are needed for other purposes," Joni added.
KAI expressed its appreciation to the Ministry of Health for the strong synergy and collaboration that made this data integration possible, providing added value and convenience for passengers.
The integration of the PeduliLindungi application with KAI's boarding system is one of the joint initiatives by KAI and the Ministry of Health to ensure safe railway travel during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"KAI continues to carry out digital transformation across its services to create a railway transportation ecosystem that is safe, comfortable, secure, and healthy," Joni concluded.
