Behind the Comfort of KAI's Services, There Are Officers Ready to Serve
From year to year, the train transport mode has always been a favorite and a mainstay for most people to carry out activities. For this reason, KAI as a service provider continues to provide the best service to its customers. Speaking of service, it certainly cannot be separated from the officers who are at the forefront. These officers are the face of railway service, both at the station and on the train.
For those of you who have a hobby of riding trains, you must often meet officers who are always ready to serve, both at the station and inside the train. Who are they? Here is the explanation.
PKD (Internal Security Officer)
PKD has responsibility for station security. A PKD is tasked with controlling station conditions. They also have an obligation to provide services to passengers, namely providing accurate information when passengers ask. Therefore, a PKD is also equipped with knowledge about facilities at the station and train departure schedules. If there is an incident that disrupts security and safety at the station, you can contact the PKD on duty.
Customer Service on Station (CSOS)
CSOS has the task of providing information services and handling customer complaints at the station. CSOS must have a high spirit of service, be responsive, and understand customer needs. If you need information related to services, KAI programs, complaints, suggestions, and criticism, you can meet the CSOS officer.
Porter
Even though porters work in the railway station environment, porter services are not managed directly by KAI. The employment status of porters at the station is freelance or independent workers coordinated by a leader. However, the presence of porters is considered highly helpful. If you bring heavy luggage and need assistance, you can ask for help from the porters who are in the station environment.

4. Boarding Officer
Before heading to the platform and boarding the train, you must meet this officer. The boarding officer is tasked with checking your identity and other travel requirement documents when you are about to ride the train. If it matches, then you will pass the boarding check and can proceed to the next stage, which is the train arrival platform. To the boarding officer, you can ask about the schedule or the position of your train arrival track while at the station.
5. Prama and Prami
Prama and prami, or train stewards and stewardesses, that is what they are called. You can meet prama and prami when you are about to board the train and during the journey. They are tasked with welcoming customers who will enter the train, serving food and beverages during the trip, and distributing amenities such as masks and blankets to customers. They will always be ready to accompany and serve you friendly.
6. Polsuska
Polsuska has a big responsibility, among which is maintaining security and order in the work environment, whether on the train, at the station, vital objects owned by KAI, tracks, and KAI assets. Polsuska also assists conductors in handling security and order issues on the train, such as reminding customers who are in the vestibule (bordes) and asking them to return to the passenger cabin, ensuring no customers violate rules or do things that can disturb other passengers during the trip. If you lose items or leave them behind at the station or on the train, you can also ask for help from this polsuska.

7. Conductor
During a train trip, customers surely often cross paths with a friendly figure who always smiles, right? Yes, that figure is the train conductor who usually greets and checks customers' tickets. In executing their duties, a conductor must be able to interact with customers, including receiving inputs and complaints. The conductor also has the authority to resolve customer complaints during the train journey. If you need information or want to convey a complaint, you can contact the telephone number listed on the wall at each end of the carriage. This will certainly make you even more comfortable while riding the train.
8. On Trip Cleaning
The On Trip Cleaning officer, hereinafter referred to as the OTC Officer, is the officer responsible for train cleanliness and maintaining facilities/equipment inside the carriage as well as in the train toilets during the journey. If you need a cleaning officer during the trip, the OTC officer is instantly ready to serve. An OTC must be deft, responsive, and polite. If anything looks dirty, they instantly clean it immediately without waiting for a customer to ask first. So it becomes even more comfortable using the train.
9. Train Technician
In every train journey, there is one officer whose job is to guarantee your travel safety, by maintaining the reliability of the train facility you ride. They are the Train Technician (TKA), the officer who operates and performs light repairs on train facilities. The long duty of a TKA begins from before the train composition is shunted at the station platform until the destination station and when extraordinary major events occur.
When the train is running, several tasks of the TKA are controlling train conditions such as generators, lights, and air conditioners. TKA is also responsible for carrying out repairs if light damage conditions occur on the train composition. If during the trip you have complaints related to the AC not being cold enough, a reclining seat not functioning properly, or other minor repairs, you can ask for help from the TKA on duty.
The presence of TKA is a commitment from KAI that prioritizes travel safety so that customers can feel comfort and enjoy prime service until the destination station.
Well, those were some officers who are ready to serve you when you are going to use train transportation. This spirit and determination to serve better is KAI's main commitment to train customers.
"All these sacrifices and hard work of all KAI people are dedicated to customers. We hope to attract public interest to remain loyal to using train transport services as their main choice, let's ride the train," concluded VP Public Relations of KAI Joni Martinus.
