After successfully implementing health protocols in a disciplined, orderly, and consistent manner, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has once again received the Safe Guard Label SIBV for the second time.

The Safe Guard Label SIBV was presented at KAI Headquarters in Bandung on Monday (6/12) by PT Surveyor Indonesia (Persero) President Director M. Haris Witjaksono to KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo.

PT Surveyor Indonesia (Persero) President Director M. Haris Witjaksono presents the Safe Guard Label certificate to PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) President Director Didiek Hartantyo.

KAI previously received the Safe Guard Label SIBV in 2020. This achievement demonstrates KAI's continued commitment to playing an active role in preventing and handling the spread of COVID-19, both onboard trains, at station areas, and throughout KAI office facilities.

"We sincerely appreciate the support from PT Surveyor Indonesia for this certification. The Safe Guard Label SIBV demonstrates to all stakeholders that industries in Indonesia, including KAI, have met the required standards for safety and comfort in COVID-19 prevention measures," said KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo.

The Safe Guard Label SIBV is an assessment conducted by Bureau Veritas in collaboration with Surveyor Indonesia. The evaluation covers three main aspects: health, safety, and cleanliness of an industrial facility. By meeting the standards for these three criteria, based on parameters established by experts including the World Health Organization (WHO), regulations issued by the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Transportation, the COVID-19 Handling Task Force, and auditors from Bureau Veritas Headquarters, KAI has once again been recognized as a transportation provider capable of supporting public mobility during the New Normal.

Health protocols recommended for both local and long-distance train passengers include wearing a three-layer face mask, maintaining physical distancing while queuing, and using health protocol facilities available at stations and onboard trains, such as hand sanitizer and handwashing stations.

Local train passengers are expected to have received at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Meanwhile, long-distance train passengers are expected to have completed the second vaccine dose and present a negative RT-PCR test result taken no more than 2 x 24 hours before departure or a negative Rapid Antigen test result taken no more than 1 x 24 hours before departure. These requirements are intended to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 through public spaces and transportation services such as railways.

KAI also continues to keep pace with technological advancements by accelerating its digital transformation, helping minimize direct contact between station personnel and passengers through the KAI Access application, which now features the KAIPay cashless payment service.

The Safe Guard Label SIBV audit was conducted at 23 locations, including KAI Headquarters and 22 major railway stations: Gambir, Pasarsenen, Bandung, Kiaracondong, Cirebon, Cirebon Prujakan, Tegal, Semarang Tawang, Semarang Poncol, Purwokerto, Kutoarjo, Lempuyangan, Yogyakarta, Solo Balapan, Madiun, Surabaya Gubeng, Surabaya Pasarturi, Jember, Medan, Kertapati, and Tanjungkarang.

On-site sampling was also carried out at seven locations: KAI Headquarters, Tegal Station, Purwokerto Station, Cirebon Prujakan Station, Jember Station, Surabaya Gubeng Station, and Malang Station. The satisfactory audit results reaffirm KAI's continued commitment to maintaining the high standards it has promised the public as a trusted public transportation provider. (Public Relations KAI)
