Traveling with the Commuter Line from Bogor Station is now more convenient following the operation of Platforms 6, 7, and 8 to serve 12-car trainsets (SF12) starting on 15 July 2026. With this upgrade, all platforms at Bogor Station are now capable of accommodating SF12 trainsets, further enhancing service capacity to support the growing number of passengers.

Throughout the first half of 2026, the Bogor Line served 78,077,679 passengers, averaging approximately 431,368 passengers per day. The increasing number of users has driven the need to enhance station capacity, ensuring a more comfortable, organized, and efficient travel experience from the moment passengers arrive at the station until they reach their destination.

Passenger activity at Bogor Station has also continued to show positive growth. Between January and June 2026, the station recorded 18,451,462 Commuter Line passenger movements, consisting of 9,371,057 entries and 9,080,405 exits. This makes Bogor Station the busiest Commuter Line station in the Greater Jakarta area.

With every platform now able to accommodate SF12 trainsets, train arrivals and departures can be managed more flexibly. Passenger distribution across the platforms has also become more balanced, allowing boarding and alighting activities to run more smoothly, particularly during peak hours.

Before entering service, Platforms 6, 7, and 8 underwent a series of comprehensive tests, including locomotive load testing, Commuter Line operational trials, and integrated testing involving infrastructure, rolling stock, and operational teams. These evaluations ensured the readiness of the infrastructure, overhead electrical system, and operational patterns while maintaining the highest safety standards.

The development of Bogor Station is also continuing. The next phase includes the construction of platform canopies on Tracks 4 and 5, the extension of canopies on Tracks 2 and 3, and the installation of escalators connecting Bogor Station to the skybridge leading to Bogor Paledang Station.

During the canopy construction on Tracks 4 and 5, passenger boarding and alighting activities have been redirected to Tracks 2, 3, 6, 7, and 8 starting from 18 July 2026. Operational arrangements have been prepared to ensure that all Commuter Line services continue to operate normally according to schedule.

The canopy extension on Tracks 2 and 3 will further improve passenger comfort. The existing canopy, which currently covers approximately five train cars, will be extended to provide shelter for the entire length of an SF12 trainset, allowing passengers to wait more comfortably across the platform.

Passenger connectivity will also improve with the planned installation of escalators leading to the Bogor Paledang Station skybridge. The new access will make transfers easier for Commuter Line passengers continuing their journey on the Pangrango Train to Sukabumi, as well as for passengers traveling in the opposite direction.

These infrastructure improvements are being carried out alongside the introduction of new SF12 Commuter Line trainsets. To date, 18 trainsets, equivalent to 216 railcars, have entered service to strengthen operations across the Greater Jakarta Commuter Line network, including the Bogor Line.

All of these enhancements are part of the ongoing effort to deliver a safer, more comfortable, and more convenient travel experience. From SF12-ready platforms and higher-capacity trainsets to expanded canopies and improved connectivity with Bogor Paledang Station, every development is designed to support the increasing mobility needs of the public.
