Laswi Heritage: A New Space for MSMEs to Grow with KAI
KAI continues to expand its support for small businesses by developing productive heritage areas. One of its latest initiatives is the Laswi Heritage area in Bandung, which is being transformed into a new creative and business hub for local micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar and Minister of MSMEs Maman Abdurrahman visited the site. They were welcomed by KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin, along with members of KAI's board of directors and representatives from the local government.
The visit reflects the strong collaboration between the government and KAI in strengthening the MSME ecosystem through the productive use of state-owned assets.
KAI is providing affordable rental opportunities for small business owners to operate within the Laswi Heritage area. The goal is to establish the site as a new center for the creative economy in the city of Bandung.
Beyond Laswi Heritage, KAI continues to support thousands of MSMEs through partnership programs, exhibitions, and promotional activities across Indonesia. As of September 2025, more than 1,000 MSMEs had participated in KAI-organized initiatives, including product certification programs, business training, and national as well as international exhibitions.
The Laswi Heritage development spans approximately 20 hectares and will continue to evolve into Laswi City, a modern commercial district that blends historical heritage, art, and business opportunities.
Through this concept, Laswi Heritage is expected to become a new platform for collaboration between the government, state-owned enterprises, and local communities, helping to strengthen the creative economy and promote the growth and independence of MSMEs in Bandung.
