KAI Strengthens Health Services and Trauma Healing for Families of East Bekasi Victims
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) remains committed to providing comprehensive support to customers and families affected by the incident at East Bekasi Station. The company is now expanding its assistance coverage, focusing not only on medical services but also on psychological aspects through a trauma healing program and facilitating medical expense claims.
KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin emphasized that the company's top priority is ensuring that every need of the affected families and customers is met during the recovery period. "We express our deepest condolences and deepest apologies. KAI is here to assist, listen to the needs of the families, and ensure that support is running smoothly amidst this difficult situation," he said.
KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication, Anne Purba, explained that coordination of follow-up health services can be accessed directly through the Information Post at East Bekasi Station. Field officers will assist with data collection and verification based on travel payment methods such as Multi Trip Cards (KMT) or other electronic money to accurately track customers' travel history.
Once the data is verified, KAI will direct customers to health facilities recommended by the KAI Health Unit and assist with the registration process at various referral hospitals.
For customers who have sought treatment independently, KAI has also prepared a reimbursement mechanism. Customers are expected to provide supporting documents such as proof of travel payments, identification, receipts, detailed medical expenses, a medical resume, and a copy of their account number.
"This claims process is coordinated with the insurance company, with an estimated processing time of no more than 21 working days after the documents are declared complete," explained Anne. KAI ensures that it will proactively contact customers once all administrative processes are complete.
Recognizing the importance of mental health recovery, KAI also facilitates trauma healing services. Customers who need them can submit applications through the Information Post or contact a dedicated service at 0812-9660-5747.
This service includes an initial assessment via telemedicine for customers. Meanwhile, for families of deceased customers, KAI will provide direct trauma healing support. This effort is intended to ensure the physical and psychological recovery process for all affected parties can proceed in a measured and empathetic manner.
