Showcasing KAI MSME Creativity at Inacraft 2024
The International Handicraft Trade Fair (Inacraft), a prestigious event showcasing the richness of handicraft products from creative industry players, returned with enthusiasm under the theme “From Smart Village to Global Market.” Held at the Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta, the event took place from February 28 to March 3, 2024.
Inacraft 2024 is not only an exhibition but also an important momentum for MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) players to demonstrate their presence. KAI also took advantage of this opportunity by encouraging its fostered MSMEs to participate in this prestigious event.
KAI Vice President of Public Relations Joni Martinus stated that MSMEs are one of the main pillars supporting national economic growth.
"In Inacraft 2024, KAI brought several of its fostered partners such as Etnic.co/Ridas Pernik from Daop 2 Bandung, Sanggar Alam Sunyaragi from Daop 3 Cirebon, Anindya Batik Art Difabel from Daop 4 Semarang, Cavin Craft Batik, and Sriti Lurik from Daop 6 Yogyakarta. Each of these partners presented unique flagship products, such as fashion made from woven fabrics, batik, and ecoprint, traditional masks, and various handmade crafts," Joni explained.
For visitors who wish to explore MSME products supported by KAI, their booth is located at JCC Hall B No. 13–14. Visitors can enjoy special offers prepared exclusively for them.
"The uniqueness of these products lies in their distinctive designs that reflect Indonesian culture and creativity," he added.
In addition to participating in exhibitions, KAI management continuously improves the quality of its fostered MSMEs through regular coaching, training, and mentoring. As MSMEs grow and develop, KAI ensures that its partners can continue to upgrade their capabilities and compete fairly in an increasingly competitive market.
For MSME development, KAI runs several programs under the name MiKA (Mitra KAI), which are divided into three main initiatives: MiKA Hasanah, a certification program for fostered partners; MiKA Next Class, which provides training from practitioners and academics related to crisis management; and MiKA Go Global, which enables fostered MSMEs to participate in national and international exhibitions, as well as the development of Teras UMK.
The company hopes to help its MSME partners improve performance, both in terms of sales volume and market expansion. As of 2024, KAI has 617 active fostered MSME partners across various regions in Indonesia. On average, these partners have been working with KAI for six years or more, demonstrating the company’s long-term commitment to MSME development.
Participation in Inacraft 2024 is expected to open new opportunities for KAI’s MSME partners to expand their business networks and market reach. KAI continues to support its partners in improving quality and competitiveness so they can compete at a global level.
"Inacraft 2024 is not only an exhibition but also a platform for KAI to fulfill its commitment to supporting Indonesian MSMEs toward success and improved welfare. Through strong collaboration between KAI and MSMEs, it is hoped that a conducive ecosystem can be created for the growth and advancement of the creative industry sector in Indonesia," Joni concluded.
