PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) remains cooperative in handling the collision involving the Argo Bromo Anggrek Train and KA 5568A Commuter Line in East Bekasi. As the investigation and legal process continue, KAI is also ensuring that employees who were on duty at the time of the incident receive company support.

From the beginning of the incident response, KAI has supported the safety investigation conducted by the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) as well as the legal process led by the Jakarta Metropolitan Police. KAI respects the authority of each institution and ensures that the information and support required throughout the process are provided in accordance with applicable regulations.

Vice President of Corporate Communication KAI Anne Purba explained that KAI’s cooperative approach is intended to ensure that each process can proceed professionally and within the respective authority of each institution.

Throughout the legal process, KAI also upholds the presumption of innocence. At the same time, the company is providing support to employees who were on duty when the incident occurred while they undergo the legal process.

The support includes legal assistance and other assistance required by employees throughout each stage of the process in accordance with applicable regulations. KAI is also ensuring that employees receive adequate information and support so they do not have to face the process alone.

However, the company’s support does not mean preempting or determining the legal process. KAI continues to respect the process and leaves legal assessment and authority to the competent institutions.

On the safety front, KAI, together with the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation as the regulator, continues to follow up on the safety recommendations issued by KNKT. These recommendations serve as a basis for evaluating and improving the operational system, including strengthening human resource readiness and improving operational reliability.

Moving forward, KAI will continue coordinating with regulators and relevant stakeholders, supporting the ongoing legal process, providing support to employees in accordance with company regulations, and following up on KNKT’s recommendations to strengthen railway safety.
