Soft Launching Access by KAI, KAI Enhances Features and Services of KAI Access
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) will carry out a revamp or performance upgrade of the KAI Access application. Through this revamp, “KAI Access” will be renamed “Access by KAI”. When opening the application, users will immediately notice changes in the user interface (more attractive visual design) and user experience. Various feature enhancements will also be introduced by KAI to further simplify customer use and improve the overall customer experience.
The KAI Access revamp is being rolled out gradually and can already be accessed by part of the public. The full updated version is targeted to be available for all users during the grand launching in August. The Access by KAI application can be downloaded via Play Store and App Store.
“Access by KAI will feature a more agile, youthful, and energetic design, and will simplify the booking process. In addition, we will introduce several new features and services such as live location implementation, trip planning, hotel reservation, added loyalty benefits, and many more,” said KAI Director of Commercial Affairs, Hadis Surya Palapa, during the soft launching of Access by KAI at Gambir Station, Jakarta on Friday (7/7).
Hadis stated that the KAI Access application is a modern solution offered by KAI to facilitate train travel through innovative features. The revamp was based on feedback from customers on Play Store, App Store, the CC121 contact center, customer satisfaction surveys, and KAI consultants.
As of June 2023, KAI Access had recorded 12,419,711 registered users with 6,101,343 active users (including premium members). KAI provides premium member benefits where each long-distance commercial train ticket booking earns Railpoints, which can be exchanged for commercial train tickets under applicable terms and conditions.
KAI recorded that from January to June 2023, ticket bookings were dominated by the KAI Access application. Total transactions via KAI Access reached 9.1 million (61.77%), B2B partners accounted for 4 million (27.10%), ticket counters 1.2 million (8.47%), the KAI website 374 thousand (2.52%), vending machines 14 thousand (0.10%), and Contact Center 121 6 thousand (0.04%).
“The large number of KAI Access users shows that KAI customers are highly interested in using digital technology in railway services,” said Hadis.
Hadis hopes that with the revamp of KAI Access into Access by KAI, public interest—especially among millennials and Generation Z—will continue to increase in using safe, comfortable, healthy, and punctual mass rail transportation services.
