Strengthening Sportsmanship and Unity, the 2026 Railway Sports and Arts Week Concludes with Daop 6 Yogyakarta as the Overall Champion

The Railway Sports and Arts Week, or Porseni Kereta Api 2026, was officially closed in Yogyakarta on Thursday (16/7). The closing of this event marked the culmination of a series of competitions that brought together KAI Group personnel in the spirit of sportsmanship, creativity, togetherness, and care for others.

Porseni Kereta Api 2026 was participated in by 1,674 athletes and arts participants from 17 contingents originating from the Head Office, Regional Operations, Regional Divisions, the LRT Jabodebek Division, KCIC, as well as a Joint Subsidiaries contingent. The participants competed in nine sports, namely football, futsal, basketball, badminton, volleyball, table tennis, lawn tennis, chess, and e-sports, as well as two art categories, namely band and dance.

The Vice Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia, Taufik Hidayat, who was present at the event, expressed appreciation to KAI Group for providing space for employees to maintain fitness, develop creativity, and strengthen togetherness. According to him, the values of discipline, resilience, teamwork, and mutual respect formed through sports and arts can be applied in the work environment as well as in service to the public. Taufik stated that Porseni Kereta Api brought together participants from various regions in the same spirit, and all participants had given their best abilities while still respecting opponents and upholding sportsmanship.

On the same occasion, donations of Rp5,000,000 each were presented to four former athletes, totaling Rp20,000,000. The donations were given to Markus Fajar Listiyantara, a former football athlete; Suwarsi, a former weightlifting athlete; Cholid Dalyanto, a former football athlete; as well as Cahyo Priyambodo, a former futsal athlete. Taufik stated that achievements would be more meaningful when accompanied by care and the willingness to share, and this donation served as appreciation for the contributions of former athletes while also strengthening intergenerational relations in the world of sports.

The President Director of KAI, Bobby Rasyidin, explained that Porseni Kereta Api is part of the company’s efforts to build KAI Group personnel who are healthy, creative, resilient, and able to collaborate. The spirit formed during the competition is expected to continue to be carried by all participants when they return to their respective work units. According to him, in every match, participants learn to prepare strategies, work together, make decisions, respect opponents, and accept results gracefully, and these values are also needed in carrying out duties and providing the best service to customers.

Based on the final standings, Daop 6 Yogyakarta won the overall championship of Porseni Kereta Api 2026 with a total of two gold medals, three silver medals, and one bronze medal. The list of winners in the nine sports and two art categories is as follows:

Bobby congratulated the winners and expressed appreciation to all participants who had competed with discipline and mutual respect. According to him, success in Porseni does not stop at winning medals, but is also reflected in the training process, teamwork, and the ability to maintain camaraderie during the competition. To the winners, this achievement is expected to serve as motivation to continue improving and to become role models, while for participants who have not yet won medals, Bobby encouraged them to continue training and creating, as the courage to compete, persistence in going through the process, and the ability to rise again are important parts of the journey toward success.

Carrying the theme “Spirit Competition, Power of Sustainability,” Porseni Kereta Api 2026 conveys a message about the importance of maintaining balance between performance achievement, physical and mental health, creativity, togetherness, and care for the environment. This spirit is in line with KAI’s transformation direction, which emphasizes balance between profit, people, and planet.

KAI also expressed appreciation to the committee, athletes, arts participants, coaches, officials, judges, referees, medical personnel, partners, sponsors, collaborators, as well as all parties who supported the implementation of the event. The cooperation of all parties ensured that the series of Porseni Kereta Api 2026 activities ran safely, orderly, and successfully.

Bobby concluded by stating that all participants are champions because they had the courage to compete, gave their best abilities, and maintained camaraderie. The spirit of togetherness and sportsmanship from Yogyakarta is expected to be carried to all KAI Group work units until the next Porseni Kereta Api.
