KAI Celebrates Indonesia's 78th Independence Day with Passengers
Every year, 17 August marks a special occasion for the Indonesian people as the nation celebrates Indonesia's Independence Day. To commemorate the country's 78th Independence Day, KAI celebrated the occasion together with its passengers on Thursday, 17 August 2023.

Joni stated that the public responded with great enthusiasm, emotion, and pride while participating in the Independence Day commemoration.
To further enhance the Independence Day celebration and entertain passengers, KAI organized a variety of activities across its operational areas. These included special Independence-themed train and station liveries, traditional community competitions, locomotive pulling contests, train washing competitions, locomotive decoration contests, and the distribution of vouchers and gift packages. In addition, frontline staff at stations wore attire inspired by Indonesia's Independence Day celebrations.
"On 17 August, all employees are required to participate in the flag ceremony, except operational staff who are on duty. These activities reflect KAI's commitment to fostering a spirit of nationalism among employees, the public, and KAI passengers," Joni explained.

Joni also expressed his hope that by strengthening the values of patriotism and love for the nation, Indonesians will continue to unite in realizing an advanced Indonesia while rejecting radical ideologies that have the potential to undermine the unity and integrity of the nation.
