LSP KAI: Ready to Produce Professional and Competent Human Resources
To create competent and professional human resources that are recognized nationally, regionally, and even internationally, KAI has established a professional institution tasked with conducting competency certification for KAI employees, suppliers’ human resources, and/or its network partners, in accordance with the scope granted by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP).

KAI employees who have been certified are seen performing maintenance activities.
The Professional Certification Institute (LSP KAI) was established as a platform for KAI personnel to ensure their competencies are standardized and certified. Certification is necessary to ensure and maintain the competency of KAI personnel in their respective fields. It is also used as a way to measure and recognize a person’s expertise or knowledge in a specific field or profession.
“LSP KAI was formed as a manifestation of KAI’s commitment to managing its human resources and providing a platform for employees to improve in their respective fields. This commitment is also proven by the fact that LSP KAI obtained a license from BNSP in 2020,” said Vice President of Public Relations KAI, Joni Martinus.
LSP KAI is responsible for developing certification schemes, creating assessment and competency test tools, providing assessors, conducting certification processes, carrying out certification maintenance surveillance, setting requirements, verifying and determining competency test sites, maintaining assessor performance and test centers, and developing certification services. To date, LSP KAI has obtained BNSP-licensed certification schemes for 19 types of professions within KAI.
“The quality of human resources is one of the key factors in KAI’s success in improving financial performance and creating new business potential through creativity and innovation from professional personnel who have the required skills and competencies. This ultimately leads to improved service quality for customers,” said Joni.
“With the existence of LSP within KAI, which has obtained a BNSP license, we hope that the certification process for various professions within KAI can be carried out more effectively, thereby creating professional and competent railway workers who can advance Indonesia’s railway industry and compete at national, regional, and international levels,” Joni concluded.
