KAI Receives Working Visit from Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) received a working visit from Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) in Indonesia on Monday–Friday (8–12/5).
“KAI received a reciprocal visit from KTMB in the context of benchmarking related to railway track and bridge maintenance management,” said KAI Director of Human Resources and General Affairs Suparno while attending the reception of the working visit from Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) in Jakarta on Monday (8/5).
Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) is a railway service operator company in Malaysia. KTMB operates on a route spanning 1,655 km with 92 stations and 75 stops throughout Peninsular Malaysia. KTMB provides passenger transport services (ETS, KTM Intercity, and KTM Komuter) and freight services (KTM Cargo).
During their stay in Indonesia, the KTMB delegation visited the KAI Head Office, LRT Jabodebek Depot, Track and Bridge Division Office, Kiaracondong Bridge Workshop (Balai Yasa Jembatan Kiaracondong), Signal, Telecommunications and Electrical (Sintelis and LAA) Workshop Cikudapateuh, and Mekanik Cirebonprujakan Workshop.
In addition to visiting various work areas, KTMB and KAI also held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD). In this FGD, both parties discussed railway track and bridge maintenance management, which is expected to improve performance, particularly in achieving the strategic program Vmaks = 160 km/h.
Cooperation between Indonesia and Malaysia has been carried out in many fields, not only in railways but also in other sectors.
“It is expected that through this visit and Focus Group Discussion, it will further expand knowledge and technological development in the increasingly advanced railway industry so that KAI and KTMB can exchange information to realize better railways in their respective countries,” Suparno concluded.
