To agree on this cooperation, KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo and Transjakarta President Director M. Yana Aditya directly signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The signing process was carried out at the Borobudur Hotel, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (15/6).
KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo stated that KAI's vision is to become the best transportation ecosystem solution for Indonesia. To realize this vision, PT KAI needs to work together, one of which is with PT Transjakarta.
“If we can integrate KAI and Transjakarta services, it will provide ease for the public to travel. The hope is that more people will use mass transit in the future, thereby reducing traffic congestion and pollution through ESG (environmental, social, and governance) implementation to achieve net zero emissions by 2060,” Didiek said.
On the same occasion, M. Yana Aditya as the President Director of PT Transjakarta conveyed that both parties are also exploring the possibility of developing integrated transportation businesses as well as transit-oriented development.
“The three matters that become the focus of this MoU will be followed up by conducting a joint study to secure detailed steps that can be operationalized,” Yana said.
Up until now, the ongoing intermodal integration includes service integration at Tebet Station, Manggarai Station, Tanah Abang Station, and Senen Station. To improve customer satisfaction for those who want to transfer between modes easily, safely, and comfortably, it is expected that more services can be integrated.
