To ensure the Jabodebek LRT project is completed on schedule, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) conducted a site visit to review the construction progress of the Jabodebek LRT project in East Bekasi on Friday (25 February).

The visit was attended by the President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), members of KAI's Board of Directors, representatives from Adhi Karya, INKA, LEN, and the Ministry of Transportation.

During the visit, Didiek and the delegation reviewed the progress of the LRT stabling facility, which will serve as the parking area for Jabodebek LRT trainsets after daily operations.

"Today, my team and I visited the Jabodebek LRT Depot to review the progress of the depot construction and its supporting facilities. We want to ensure that the depot is fully prepared to support the operations of the Jabodebek LRT," said KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo.

The Jabodebek LRT Depot consists of several facilities, including the stabling area, Light Maintenance, Heavy Maintenance, the Operation Control Center (OCC) Building, and other supporting areas, covering approximately 100,000 square metres.

The Light Maintenance facility has 10 tracks used for inspections and routine maintenance of the Jabodebek LRT, including daily maintenance as well as scheduled maintenance every one, three, six, and twelve months. Meanwhile, the Heavy Maintenance facility has eight tracks dedicated to major maintenance with annual maintenance cycles.

Didiek and the delegation also reviewed the readiness of the OCC room, which will serve as the traffic control centre for the Jabodebek LRT. The Jabodebek LRT will operate using the Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) system with Grade of Automation Level 3 (GoA 3). The trains will operate automatically, with all movements monitored from the OCC by operational personnel.

"As of 25 February, the Jabodebek LRT project has achieved an important milestone with the activation of the OCC. As we have previously informed, the OCC is a key component of the CBTC GoA 3 operating system. All monitoring and operational control of the Jabodebek LRT will be carried out from the OCC," said Didiek.

With the OCC now activated, the operational facilities along the Jabodebek LRT line can temporarily be monitored and controlled, although train movement control has not yet been activated. Several additional milestones still need to be completed.

Overall, construction progress on the Jabodebek LRT project has reached 80.27%, while construction of the Jabodebek LRT Depot has reached 77%.

The integrated testing between the signalling system and the rolling stock is expected to be completed by mid-March. Once completed, the Jabodebek LRT will move one step closer to fully automated train operations.

"KAI, together with all stakeholders, continues to work hard to ensure that all operational preparations for the Jabodebek LRT are completed according to the established timeline while maintaining the highest safety standards. We will also continue coordinating with all relevant parties so that the Jabodebek LRT can begin serving the public as soon as possible," Didiek concluded. (Public Relations KAI)
