KAI Establishes Preparation Team for INDI 4.0 Assessment
As part of the company's commitment to supporting the Government's Making Indonesia 4.0 programme, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) held a preparation meeting for the Indonesia Industry 4.0 Readiness Index (INDI 4.0) assessment at its Headquarters. The meeting was conducted virtually via Zoom on Wednesday (10 February).
The meeting was attended by Corporate Deputy Director of Information System Endro Rahardjo, Executive Vice President of Project Management Office Taufikurrahman, Vice President of Enterprise Resource Planning Dody Gunawan, Vice President of IT Design and Development Agung Susilo Putro, Vice President of IT Operation Subandi, Acting Vice President of IT Planning and Governance Didik Wardoyo, Acting Vice President of Quality Assurance and Good Corporate Governance Astrid Anindita, as well as representatives from the related business units involved in the INDI 4.0 Preparation Team.
In his opening remarks, Corporate Deputy Director of Information System Endro Rahardjo said that the preparation was carried out to assess KAI's readiness for the upcoming INDI 4.0 assessment. He also emphasised that the support of all related business units within the INDI 4.0 Preparation Team is essential, as the INDI 4.0 assessment is a corporate-wide assessment that requires thorough preparation.
The INDI 4.0 assessment evaluates companies based on five main pillars. These include Management and Organisation (leadership strategy, Industry 4.0 innovation, and innovation policy); People and Culture (organisational culture, openness to change, and competency development); Products and Services (product customisation, data-driven services, and smart products); Technology (cybersecurity, connectivity, smart machines, and digitalisation); and Factory/Company Operations (data storage and sharing, smart supply chain, autonomous processes, and smart maintenance systems). Among these five pillars, the People and Culture pillar carries the highest assessment weight.
Dr Ing Paryanto, the appointed consultant for the INDI 4.0 assessment, explained that the willingness of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) to undergo the INDI 4.0 assessment reflects their commitment to adapting to the continuous changes taking place in the industrial sector.
Furthermore, he stated that a strong commitment to change from all SOE employees up to top management is essential for the successful implementation of the INDI 4.0 assessment.
"Without change, there can be no improvement," said Paryanto. He also expressed his hope that KAI would become one of the leaders in the logistics sector.
The meeting continued with a technical presentation outlining the responsibilities and materials that each preparation team would need to complete.
Acting Vice President of IT Planning and Governance Didik Wardoyo explained that the INDI 4.0 assessment for KAI Headquarters would be conducted on 22–24 February 2022. He therefore encouraged all preparation teams to begin collecting the required data.
At the end of the meeting, Corporate Deputy Director of Information System Endro Rahardjo emphasised that the implementation of the INDI 4.0 assessment at KAI is not only intended to fulfil shareholder requirements, but also represents the company's commitment to continuously improving services for railway customers.
