KAI Inaugurates UMK Terrace at Bandung Station to Fully Support the Growth of Small Businesses
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) officially inaugurated the UMK Terrace (Micro and Small Enterprises) at Bandung Station on Thursday (10/11). The UMK Terrace at Bandung Station is the first KAI Partner UMK Empowerment Program facility opened within KAI's business area. Its purpose is to provide a platform for KAI-supported micro and small enterprises to showcase and sell their products to the public, especially railway customers.
KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo stated that despite facing significant challenges due to the pandemic over the past two years, KAI has continued to build strong collaborations to create positive impacts for the surrounding community. One of these initiatives is the inauguration of the UMK Terrace at Bandung Station.

Bandung Head of the Cooperatives and SMEs Office Atet Dedi, accompanied by KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo, conducted the ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of the UMK Terrace at Bandung Station on Thursday (10/11).
"The presence of this UMK Terrace is also KAI's support for the Ministry of SOEs' program to build connectivity and sustainability between state-owned enterprises and local communities. This creates mutually supportive communication, as KAI has implemented various TJSL (Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility) programs in the field of UMK empowerment. Therefore, in every KAI operational area, there are TJSL programs and supported partners that we continue to develop," said Didiek.
The UMK Terrace at Bandung Station is located on the southern side of the station. Various high-quality products are available, including food, beverages, fashion items, and handicrafts, all produced by micro and small enterprises.
A total of 24 KAI-supported UMKs participate in displaying their products at the UMK Terrace. Customers can purchase products using various payment methods, including cash, debit cards, credit cards, and QRIS.
Not only at Bandung Station, KAI plans to establish UMK Terraces at other stations in the future. This initiative will become one of KAI's sustainable strategic programs, in line with government regulations regarding the provision of space quotas for MSMEs within public infrastructure facilities.
As of 2022, KAI has distributed Rp25.9 billion in funding to 2,692 supported UMKs. These businesses operate in various sectors, including industry, services, trade, fisheries, agriculture, livestock, and others.
In addition to providing business capital assistance, KAI also facilitates training and certification programs for its supported UMKs. KAI also helps these businesses participate in various exhibitions to improve the competitiveness of local products.
"We hope that the UMK Terrace, which serves as a showcase for KAI-supported micro and small enterprises for station visitors and KAI customers, will continue to grow. KAI will continue developing partnerships with UMK entrepreneurs to provide benefits and support sustainable business growth," concluded Didiek.
