PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) and the Bogor City Government have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Development of Urban Railway Services in Bogor City. The MoU was signed by KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo and Bogor Mayor Bima Arya, witnessed by West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil during the inauguration of Bogor City Square on Friday (17/12).
This MoU serves as an initial commitment and the foundation for KAI and the Bogor City Government to establish synergy based on their respective authorities, competencies, programs, and activities that support the development of railway services in Bogor City.
KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo said that this MoU represents a concrete step between the regional government and a state-owned enterprise in providing integrated transportation services for the public, particularly in Bogor City.
"We would like to express our deepest appreciation to all parties who made this collaborative partnership between KAI and the Bogor City Government possible in support of efficient and environmentally friendly integrated transportation," said Didiek.
"This MoU marks a strategic beginning for KAI and the Bogor City Government to continue collaborating in developing railway services in Bogor City, along with the development of integrated surrounding areas," he continued.
The scope of the MoU includes planning mutually beneficial forms of cooperation for both parties and conducting studies related to the development of urban railway services in Bogor City.
Areas across Bogor City will be developed through an inclusive urban transport-based approach centered on urban railway services. The Urban Railway Development will adopt the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) concept, which is expected to create added value for Bogor City's economic growth.
At the same event, a new access to Bogor Station integrated with Bogor City Square was officially inaugurated, along with the launch of the Bogor City edition of the Multi-Trip Card, which can be used for transactions on Commuter Line services and various public transportation modes throughout Bogor City.
Didiek stated that KAI will continue to build collaborative partnerships with stakeholders and support the advancement of Indonesia's transportation ecosystem by providing integrated transportation solutions based on intermodal connectivity, in line with the company's vision of becoming the best transportation ecosystem in Indonesia.
"The development of urban railway services is also expected to make mobility for the people of Bogor City easier, more flexible, and more efficient through the integration of stations with various modes of transportation," said Didiek. (Public Relations KAI)
