KAI Earns Indonesia Trusted Company Recognition Through Consistent Good Corporate Governance Implementation
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has received the Indonesia Trusted Company award based on the Corporate Governance Perception Index (CGPI), presented by SWA Magazine and The Indonesian Institute for Corporate Governance (IICG).
The award was presented at the Indonesia Good Corporate Governance Award 2021, held under the theme "Building Corporate Resilience Through Good Corporate Governance (GCG)" at the Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, on Wednesday (8/12).
KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo attended the event to receive the award on behalf of KAI. The award was presented by SWA Media Group Chief Editor Kemal E. Gani and IICG Chairman Gendut Suprayitno.
"We would like to express our sincere appreciation to SWA Magazine and IICG for recognizing KAI at the Indonesia Good Corporate Governance Award 2021. KAI's GCG score continues to improve, reflecting our consistent efforts to strengthen the quality of corporate governance, including the implementation of our pandemic resilience strategy," said KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo.
Didiek explained that KAI's core values, AKHLAK (Trustworthy, Competent, Harmonious, Loyal, Adaptive, and Collaborative), together with the principles of Good Corporate Governance, serve as the foundation for all of KAI's strategies in achieving its mission of becoming the best transportation ecosystem solution for Indonesia. In implementing corporate governance, KAI consistently adheres to the principles of transparency, accountability, responsibility, independence, and fairness.
In line with the theme of this year's award, KAI has implemented four resilience and recovery strategies during the pandemic. These strategies include protecting employees and customers from COVID-19, maintaining liquidity and solvency, implementing efficiency programs through budget reprioritization and cost reduction, and optimizing revenue sources.
The Indonesia Good Corporate Governance Award 2021 marks KAI's first participation in the CGPI assessment since 2015, when the company received the Trusted Company category.
The award recognizes companies that have demonstrated a strong commitment and consistency in implementing Good Corporate Governance (GCG) on a sustainable basis, based on the results of the 2020 Corporate Governance Perception Index (CGPI). The assessment covers the company's financial and non-financial performance, compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as management controls, and alignment with ethical standards, norms, and corporate values.
"We have learned valuable lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic by carrying out a Triple Transformation consisting of Digital Transformation, Organizational Transformation, and Cultural Transformation. These initiatives have enabled us to become more agile and adaptive while embedding the AKHLAK core values throughout the organization," said Didiek.
SWA Media Group Chief Editor Kemal E. Gani expressed his appreciation to all participants of this year's award program. He noted that every participating company demonstrated a strong commitment to fostering a culture of Good Corporate Governance.
"The theme chosen this year is highly relevant and important under various circumstances, especially over the past two years. We truly appreciate all CGPI participants who have taken concrete steps to strengthen their corporate resilience," said Kemal E. Gani. (Public Relations KAI)
