KAI's Comprehensive Transformation Earns Recognition at the 2022 Youth Choice Award
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) (KAI) has responded to the challenges of globalisation by accelerating the development of its digital services. This strategy has become one of the company's key strengths in remaining resilient and continuing to grow during the COVID-19 pandemic.
KAI has implemented various initiatives to overcome the challenges of the pandemic while continuing to serve the public, including the development of its mobile ticketing service through the KAI Access application. Customers enjoy various benefits when using KAI Access, including greater convenience, exclusive services for Premium Members, and continuous feature innovations.
In recognition of KAI's commitment to developing the KAI Access application, the company received an award at the 2022 Youth Choice Award (YCA), organised virtually by Marketeers on Saturday (26 March). KAI was named the Gold Winner in the State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) Mobile Apps category.
KAI Vice President of Public Relations Joni Martinus expressed his appreciation for the award, describing it as motivation for the company to continue serving the public and accelerating its transformation.
"We would like to thank Marketeers for this recognition. This award encourages and motivates us to continue serving the public by providing greater convenience while continuously transforming our services. We dedicate this award to all members of the railway community, KAI employees, and the people of Indonesia," said Joni.
The 2022 Youth Choice Award is the highest recognition for brands selected by Generation Z through an online voting process conducted from 4 January to 28 February 2022. Generation Z, consisting of those born between 1995 and 2010, represents the first generation of digital natives. They are a significant market both today and in the future and currently make up one of the largest population groups in Indonesia.

As digital natives, Generation Z has a strong and influential presence in the online world. In other words, they are not only a highly potential market but also one of the key factors determining which brands succeed in the marketplace.
The voting involved more than 1,500 university students, all of whom belong to Generation Z, from over 35 leading universities across Indonesia. This year's survey covered 34 product categories that are gaining popularity among Generation Z.
The award is not the final destination for KAI's innovation journey. The company remains committed to continuously improving its services by providing safe and efficient transportation systems for the people of Indonesia.
Furthermore, KAI believes that digitalisation can serve as a solution for integrating different modes of transportation, making public transport infrastructure more accessible to a wider community. This effort supports the continued development of Indonesia's transportation infrastructure. (Public Relations KAI)
