
KAI Ready to Transform Towards Industry 4.0
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) held the kick-off meeting for the Indonesia Industry 4.0 Readiness Index (INDI 4.0) assessment virtually on Friday (10/12). The assessment was conducted as a follow-up to the directive from the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) to carry out the INDI 4.0 assessment in order to measure the company's readiness to transform towards Industry 4.0.
The event was attended by 150 participants consisting of working groups from the Head Office, Regional Operations/Regional Divisions, and Railway Maintenance Workshops (Balai Yasa). Also attending the event were Corporate Deputy Directors and Executive Vice Presidents from the Head Office, Regional Offices, and Balai Yasa.
For information, the Indonesia Industry 4.0 Readiness Index (INDI 4.0) is the national standard used to measure a company's level of readiness in transforming towards the Industry 4.0 era.
In his opening remarks, Corporate Deputy Director of Information and Technology, Endro Rahardjo, called for the support of all parties involved in implementing the Industry 4.0 program at KAI.
"Not only the Information Technology Unit, but every unit within KAI is involved in implementing Industry 4.0," he said.
As the institution appointed to conduct the assessment, Wibowo D H, Head of the Center for Materials and Technical Products (B4T), said that the most important aspect of implementing Industry 4.0 is having the right mindset for transformation.
He also stated that this transformation would create agents of change. Therefore, he invited all KAI employees to support the successful implementation of the INDI 4.0 assessment at KAI.
The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises aims for all SOEs to achieve strong readiness in implementing Industry 4.0 by 2024, with a minimum INDI 4.0 score of 3.5.
KAI is committed to carrying out the INDI 4.0 assessment in 2021, with assessors from the Center for Materials and Technical Products (B4T). (Public Relations KAI)
