Health is an important matter that should not be ignored. KAI realizes that employee health is one of the key assets in maintaining productivity and the company’s success. With more than 28,000 employees, KAI is taking proactive steps to ensure the health and welfare of employees and their families by providing easy access to quality healthcare facilities.

KAI juga rutin melakukan Medical Check Up (MCU) setiap tahun kepada seluruh pegawai
KAI also regularly conducts annual Medical Check-Ups (MCU) for all employees.

One of KAI’s concrete efforts is operating Klinik Mediska, which is spread across various operational regions. These clinics provide primary outpatient healthcare services, including general health examinations, dental care, specialist services (internal medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics/gynecology), maternal and child health services, family planning (KB), health consultations, pharmacy services, and chronic disease management programs (Prolanis).

These clinics are supported by professional and experienced medical personnel, including general practitioners, dentists, specialists, midwives, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, and occupational health experts. All active employees and family members registered under the employee health insurance program (JKP) can access services at Klinik Mediska by showing their JKP card. In addition, Klinik Mediska also serves retirees, retirees’ families, and the general public under BPJS Health by selecting Klinik Mediska as a primary care provider (PPK 1).

To improve its healthcare services, KAI has partnered with 588 healthcare providers, consisting of 416 hospitals of type A, B, and C, 54 laboratories, 40 optical providers, 10 pharmacies, 8 professional service contracts, 2 midwives, 46 clinics, and 12 family doctors. This ensures that KAI employees, their families, and the public have access to comprehensive and high-quality healthcare services.

KAI also routinely conducts annual Medical Check-Ups (MCU) for all employees to monitor their health conditions. As of mid-May 2024, MCUs had been conducted for 27,347 employees with a participation rate of 97.76%, and the process is still ongoing in several regions. These MCUs are important for early detection of potential illnesses that could affect employee performance.

On April 30, 2024, KAI inaugurated Klinik Mediska Lubuk Alung in the Divre II West Sumatra region. This new clinic adds to the healthcare service options alongside Klinik Mediska Padang, making healthcare services more accessible. The facilities at Klinik Mediska Lubuk Alung include a general polyclinic, basic laboratory services, and a pharmacy unit. With this inauguration, KAI now operates a total of 54 clinics.

VP Public Relations of KAI, Joni Martinus, said that employees are an important asset whose health and well-being must be prioritized. The existence of Klinik Mediska across various regions reflects KAI’s commitment to providing the best healthcare services for the entire KAI family, including active employees, their families, retirees, retirees’ families, and the general public.

“The availability of healthcare facilities owned by KAI is expected to reflect how important employee health and well-being are. With healthy and prosperous employees, the company will experience significant progress. This is a concrete step in creating a healthy and sustainable work environment, which also positively impacts services to KAI customers,” Joni concluded.
