Consistently Realizing a Clean, Bribe-Free, Corruption-Free KAI, KAI Expands ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System Certification
KAI's hard work in implementing good corporate governance is realized, among other things, by implementing the Anti-Bribery Management System (SMAP) within the company's business processes. As always echoed by the President Director of KAI Didiek Hartantyo, the basic principles in business practices organized by KAI must be based on the principles of Good Corporate Governance (GCG). This effort bore sweet fruit with the receipt of the ISO 37001:2016 SMAP certification by KAI, which is an expansion of the implementation scope from the previous year.
ISO 37001, launched in 2016, is also known as the Anti-Bribery Management System created to establish a corporate framework to prevent, detect, and investigate bribery and corruption cases.
The ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System certificate was received by the Acting USQ Arman Hidayat in the KAI Board of Commissioners Meeting Room, Bandung, Thursday (15/9).
The Anti-Bribery Management System (SMAP) is a form of KAI's commitment to realizing a Clean KAI with Zero Tolerance for Bribery, which must be maintained and improved consistently and sustainably. SMAP ISO 37001:2016 consists of six basic principles comprising adequate procedures, top management commitment, bribery risk identification and analysis, due diligence, communication, as well as monitoring and evaluation.
"The purpose of the ISO 37001:2016 SMAP audit is to review how the anti-bribery management system is implemented in the company, identify strengths and weaknesses, corrective & preventive actions, the level of bribery risk faced, and make recommendations for improving SMAP goals," said the Acting USQ.
This SMAP SNI ISO 37001:2016 certification was obtained through several stages, including planning, development and implementation, evaluation, and certification. The certification obtained by KAI was issued by the certification body TUV Nord Indonesia.
The Acting USQ stated that next, this SMAP will be implemented gradually across all organizational units within KAI.
The presentation of this certificate serves as a gift for KAI, which will celebrate its 77th anniversary on September 28, 2022. With its increasing age, KAI will continue to Realize a Clean, Bribe-Free, Corruption-Free KAI for Indonesia.
“KAI expresses its gratitude to all parties involved in the process of obtaining this SMAP certification. All KAI People will continue to uphold AKHLAK values, a culture of integrity, as well as zero tolerance for bribery and corruption crimes within the KAI environment, so as to create good corporate governance,” concluded Arman.
