National Children's Day (HAN) is commemorated every July 23 of each year. The commemoration of HAN is an important part of the joint efforts to campaign for the fulfillment of rights and protection of Indonesian children.

In the framework of commemorating HAN 2022, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) conducted various activities across its operational areas. In Regional Operation (Daop) 4 Semarang, for example, KAI along with the Bina Bunda Talent Center for Children with Special Needs owned by the Anne Avantie Foundation invited 50 children to visit the Ambarawa Museum and ride a tourist train on Saturday (23/7). KAI wanted to introduce classic trains and various collections at the Ambarawa Museum. By learning about railway history, it is hoped that the train will become a mass transportation mode close to children's hearts and loved until they grow up.

“KAI highly supports this activity. Visiting a railway museum can be a means to educate children about rail transport while enjoying a ride on a tourist train," said VP Public Relations of KAI Joni Martinus.
Anne Avantie, as the owner of the foundation who is also a fashion designer and pioneer of contemporary kebaya, highly appreciated KAI for its support in this activity.

“Thank you to KAI for weaving togetherness in real service alongside children with special needs. Hopefully, this becomes an example for other companies so it can be a chain of kindness that brings blessings to many people," said Anne Avantie.

Meanwhile, in other regions like Divre I North Sumatra, for instance, the commemoration of HAN was conducted with a mass prayer inviting children from the Umar Bin Khattab Muhammadiyah Orphanage at Lubuk Pakam Station on Saturday (23/7). In Daop 5 Purwokerto, HAN was celebrated vibrantly on Thursday (21/7) through a "Storytelling with 1001 Children" activity.

Coloring competitions to train children's motor skills were also held in several other regions, such as in Daop 6 at Yogyakarta Station, Daop 7 at Madiun Station, Daop 8 in the Playground Area of Surabaya Gubeng Station, Divre II at Padang Station, and Divre III at Kertapati Station.
Not just competitions, to further enliven the HAN commemoration, KAI also distributed souvenirs to child passengers inside the Kuala Stabas and Rajabasa trains in the Divre III Palembang area, Argo Wilis and Argo Parahyangan trains in Daop 2 Bandung, and the Logawa train in Daop 9 Jember. Besides inside the trains, souvenir distribution was also carried out at stations in the Daop 3 area, such as Cirebon Station and Cirebon Prujakan Station.

The HAN commemoration was also carried out through the official Kereta Api Kita Instagram platform by holding a storytelling competition from July 23 to July 28, 2022. In this activation, KAI wanted to test children's skills in sharing stories about their experiences using trains. This activity was grouped into 3 categories, namely ages 5-8 years, 9-12 years, and 13-15 years, with attractive prizes including official KAI merchandise, Railway History books, and train ticket vouchers.

The entire series of activities conducted both at stations and on trains proves that KAI is consistent in providing friendly services and showing care for customers, especially children.

“We hope Indonesian children can grow and develop into children who are the pride of their families and the nation. Furthermore, we hope they love the train and also help safeguard train journeys wherever they are,” concluded VP Public Relations of KAI Joni Martinus.
