
Committed to Running TJSL, KAI Wins Gold Champion at BISRA 2022 Event
The Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) provided by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has been assessed as capable of accelerating economic recovery during the pandemic. This was proven through the acquisition of the Gold Champion in Corporate Social Responsibility Program Category of State-Owned Company at the 2022 BISRA Event.

The award was received by KAI Executive Vice President Corporate Secretary Asdo Artriviyanto and presented by the President Commissioner of Bisnis Indonesia Hariyadi Budi Santoso Sukamdani at Le Meridien Hotel, Jakarta on Wednesday (29/6).
The award was given because KAI was assessed as committed to running its TJSL program, possessing programs that bring benefits to the community, and having an impact on efforts to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The panel of judges for the 2022 BISRA consisted of the Expert Staff for Social Affairs and Poverty Reduction at Bappenas, who is also the Head of the National Secretariat for SDGs, Vivi Yulaswati; National Director of Habitat for Humanity Indonesia Susanto Samsudin; and Editor-in-Chief of Bisnis Indonesia Maria Y. Benyamin.

We continue to distribute various forms of assistance in order to build a sustainable business,” said KAI EVP Corporate Secretary Asdo Artriviyanto.
Certainly, with this honor, KAI will be increasingly motivated to provide assistance and contributions to the community and environment, and will continue to innovate in distributing the company's TJSL to deliver social, economic, and environmental impacts wherever KAI operates.
KAI has two strategic TJSL programs, namely the Implementation of Priority Sustainable Development Goals (TPB) which is integrated, targeted, measurable in impact, and accountable; and Creating Shared Value, which means creating mutual value by addressing social challenges as part of the core strategy to achieve a higher market capitalization and a long-lasting competitive advantage.
In addition, there is also KAI's TJSL program focus which is divided into 3 sectors: Education, Environment, and Micro and Small Enterprise (UMK) Development.
In the education sector, KAI runs the KAI Edufriend program and scholarships from the SOE Foundation for Indonesia. Specifically to serve people with disabilities, KAI runs sign language training for front liners, service excellence training for disabilities, and skills training for people with disabilities.
In the Environment sector, KAI manages the KAI Pling (Peduli Lingkungan / Caring for the Environment) program, KAI Sar-i (Sarana Ibadah / Places of Worship), tree planting/green stations, KAI Go Green, and supports the socialization of train travel safety and comfort.
Meanwhile, for the UMK development sector, KAI runs the MiKA Hasanah, MiKA Go Global, MiKA Next Class, UMK On Station and Train, and Teras UMK programs.
In 2021, KAI budgeted TJSL funds amounting to IDR 23.9 billion, and this year it increased by 4% to IDR 24.9 billion. This demonstrates KAI's commitment to continuously contributing to the Indonesian nation.
