
Minimal Complaints, Various Circles Express Appreciation to KAI During the 2022 Lebaran
The 2022 Lebaran transportation period has drawn to a close safely and smoothly. For 22 days, from April 22, 2022, to May 13, 2022, KAI served millions of customers, escorting them to celebrate Lebaran in their hometowns.
KAI's performance in providing homecoming services to the public during the 2022 Lebaran transportation period was highly appreciated by various circles. One of the commendations was expressed by the Indonesian Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi while inspecting the homecoming flow at Pasar Senen Station on Wednesday (27/4). The Minister appreciated KAI's performance in helping to ensure the success of the 2022 Lebaran homecoming program, which was reflected in the high volume of ticket sales.
Not only the Minister of Transportation, but several ministers such as Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, and Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya Bakar also assessed that KAI delivered excellent service quality.
Furthermore, appreciation was also given by state and regional officials, including National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo, East Java Vice Governor Emil Elestianto Dardak, Member of Commission VI of the House of Representatives (DPR-RI) overseeing SOE affairs Andre Rosiade, Member of Commission VI DPR RI Siti Mukaromah, Member of Commission XI DPR RI Indah Kurniawati, and Chairman of the PDIP Central Executive Board Nusyirwan Soejono.
During this 2022 Lebaran transportation period, no major complaints were reported by the public regarding rail services. In fact, station services, customer security, and the quality of the trains provided were exceptional.
Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir stated that the success of managing Indonesia's railway system was evident from the complete lack of complaints from Lebaran travelers.
"I express my appreciation to all KAI employees who willingly worked during the Lebaran holidays and provided the best service to accommodate the public heading back to their hometowns," Erick said.
In addition, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani admitted she was very satisfied with KAI's performance regarding service improvements and its consistency in executing safe, comfortable, and healthy Lebaran Transportation. Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani expressed this appreciation when she was about to travel using the Nusantara tourist train from Gambir Station to Semarang Tawang.
A number of other officials also conveyed their appreciation to KAI. For instance, Ignasius Jonan during his visit to Surabaya Gubeng Station on Saturday (7/5). During the visit, Jonan observed the atmosphere of travelers during the 2022 Lebaran transportation command post period. Jonan commended KAI's performance, noting that it gets better day by day in delivering service to its customers. On that occasion, Jonan also greeted passengers of the Turangga train scheduled to depart from Surabaya Gubeng Station to Bandung.
The Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK), Anwar Usman, was also amazed by KAI's performance. This was conveyed by Anwar when he was about to travel to Purwokerto Station from Gambir Station using the Fajar Utama train on Friday (13/5).
The appreciation given by the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court was related to the service and cleanliness at Pasar Senen Station. Anwar Usman advised KAI employees to maintain this level of service and cleanliness, not only for high-ranking officials but for all people of Indonesia.
"This is the first time since the major transformations at KAI, and I was genuinely surprised as soon as I entered the parking area; the atmosphere was extraordinary, very comfortable and clean. It was beyond my imagination that the changes would be this beautiful and excellent," Anwar stated.
KAI Vice President of Public Relations Joni Martinus expressed great gratitude to all customers for the appreciation given and for trusting KAI as their transportation choice during this 2022 Lebaran moment.
“We express our gratitude to all customers for their trust in using the train as their preferred mode of transportation to return to their hometowns during the Lebaran homecoming flow this year,” he concluded.
