PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) is enlivening this year's Lebaran Transportation by installing special liveries on several Long-Distance Trains, putting up Eid al-Fitr ornaments, and organizing the Gift for Kids program.

KAI has installed the Eid al-Fitr 1443 H Livery on the Bima Train (Gambir-Surabaya Gubeng round-trip), Argo Parahyangan (Gambir-Bandung round-trip), Argo Wilis (Bandung-Surabaya Gubeng round-trip), Taksaka (Gambir-Yogyakarta round-trip), Sembrani (Surabaya Pasar Turi-Gambir round-trip), and Sribilah (Medan-Rantau Prapat round-trip).

The Eid al-Fitr 1443 H Livery installed on the trainsets and locomotives features a green background decorated with ketupat and bedug illustrations, accompanied by the text "Stepping Forward to Celebrate the Day of Victory, Happy Eid al-Fitr 1443 H." In addition to the trainsets, signature Lebaran decorations also adorn station areas such as gates, ticket counters, and halls.

“We are presenting these Lebaran ornaments so that train customers can fully experience the euphoria of the Lebaran homecoming once again, which was missing over the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic,” said KAI VP Public Relations Joni Martinus.

Not only that, during this year's Lebaran Transportation period, KAI is also running the Gift for Kids program, which provides gifts for children aged 1-10 years during journeys on certain Luxury, Executive, Business, and Economy class trains. KAI has prepared 20,000 packages with various types of gifts that can be selected, such as train-themed coloring books with colored pencils, puzzles, and keychains. The children who received these gifts were delighted to get attractive souvenirs as well as fun activities during their journey.

“KAI expresses its appreciation for our young customers who faced difficulties traveling by train during the Covid-19 pandemic. Hopefully, these gifts can bring joy and excitement to the little ones during their homecoming journey by train,” Joni said.

On departures for April 24 or D-8, KAI dispatched 80,933 Long-Distance Train customers embarking on early mudik to various destinations. From D-10 to D-8, KAI served a total of 218,670 customers, averaging 72,890 customers per day with an occupancy rate of 64%.

As of April 25, KAI has sold 1,496,708 Long-Distance Train tickets, or 58% of the total tickets provided for the departure period from April 22 to May 13, 2022. The public's favorite departure dates for the homecoming flow are April 29 and April 30, or D-3 and D-2 of Lebaran.

"KAI also reminds the public to remain compliant with health protocols as mandated by the government under Ministry of Transportation SE Number 49 of 2022. We also invite the public to get their booster shots immediately so that train journeys remain healthy and comfortable during this Lebaran Transportation period,” Joni concluded.
