PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has donated one operational vehicle to the Central Java Chapter of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI).

The vehicle was officially handed over by Executive Vice President of KAI Operation Area 4 (Daop 4) Semarang, Wisnu Pramudyo, to Central Java Deputy Governor Taj Yasin Maimoen. The handover ceremony was witnessed by Head of the Central Java PMI, Sarwa Pramana, and KAI Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility, Bachoirullazi, at the Central Java Governor's Office in Semarang on Thursday (7 April).

The donation is part of KAI's 2022 Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programme, aimed at supporting the Government's healthcare initiatives, particularly in the Central Java Province.

"Today, we are handing over an operational vehicle to the Central Java PMI. Through this Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility programme, KAI is supporting the operational activities of the Central Java PMI in serving the community, especially ahead of the Eid Transportation period," said Wisnu Pramudyo during his remarks.

Meanwhile, Central Java Deputy Governor Taj Yasin expressed his appreciation and gratitude for KAI's support and contribution in strengthening the operational capacity of the Central Java PMI. He said the donation would help support the humanitarian activities carried out by the Indonesian Red Cross, which continues to serve the nation and benefit the community.

"With the upcoming Eid holiday, the Central Java Provincial Government must ensure the safety and well-being of travellers returning to their hometowns. We hope this vehicle will support PMI personnel in monitoring the flow of the Eid homecoming travel, checking the health of travellers, and assisting with blood donation mobility," said Taj Yasin.
