KAI Partners with DAMRI to Make Public Transportation More Convenient
To improve customer service, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has partnered with Perum DAMRI to launch the E-Moda feature in the KAI Access application, providing an integrated transportation service between Long-Distance Trains and DAMRI buses.
Through the KAI Access application, Long-Distance Train customers can purchase DAMRI bus tickets to travel to their departure station or from their arrival station to their final destination.
KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo and DAMRI Commercial and Business Development Director Sandry Pasambuna officially launched the KAI Access E-Moda feature at Gambir Station on Wednesday (2 February).
The service is available to all train passengers. Customers who wish to use the DAMRI Bus add-on service must update their KAI Access application to version 4.9.0.
To purchase a DAMRI bus ticket, customers simply select their purchased train ticket from the My Ticket menu, choose the Services menu, and then select Bus. The Bus service option remains available in the KAI Access application until one hour before the train arrives at the destination station.
Payments for the KAI–DAMRI integrated transportation service can be made through KAIPay, e-wallets, or QRIS.
Once the payment is successfully completed, customers will receive a DAMRI Bus QR Code, which must be presented to DAMRI staff at the ticket counter.
KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo said that this innovation represents KAI's commitment to building a comprehensive transportation ecosystem.
The integration of different modes of transportation into the KAI Access application is part of KAI's efforts to improve customer service by making it easier to purchase DAMRI bus tickets through a single application.
The availability of first-mile and last-mile services using DAMRI buses is expected to help train passengers continue their journeys from the station to their final destinations, or vice versa.
"KAI will continue developing the KAI Access application as part of the company's ongoing digital transformation," said Didiek.

DAMRI President Director Setia N. Milatia Moemin stated that this collaboration is expected to meet customers' first-mile and last-mile transportation needs while making travel more convenient. DAMRI also continues to expand its digital ticket purchasing and payment system through the DAMRI Apps and the official DAMRI ticketing website.
"During the initial phase, DAMRI bus tickets available through KAI Access cover the Gambir Station–Soekarno-Hatta Airport round-trip route and the Yogyakarta Station–Hotel Wisata Magelang round-trip route. These routes were selected because they are among the most popular with customers before or after using train services. Going forward, additional DAMRI bus routes available through KAI Access will continue to be introduced," added Milatia.
