PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) officially launched the new look of its corporate website, kai.id, on Monday, August 17, 2026, at the Auditorium of KAI Headquarters in Bandung. The update was carried out to make it easier for the public to access information about services, products, business units, sustainability, and KAI's history through a more modern, structured, and integrated information gateway.

The launch took place alongside the commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, which carries the theme “A Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia.” On this occasion, KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin positioned the website update as part of the company's digital transformation to strengthen connectivity and public access to information.

KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin said technological developments and changes in public behavior are encouraging the company to provide information channels that are increasingly accessible, informative, responsive, and relevant to public needs.

“KAI's website must be able to meet the public's need for information that is easy to find, clear, and relevant. We are introducing a new look for kai.id so that the public can gain a more comprehensive understanding of KAI's services and developments through an increasingly improved digital experience,” said Bobby.

The public's need for information through kai.id can be seen from its visitor traffic. Based on data from KAI's Information Technology Team, kai.id recorded 49.4 million visitors over the one-year period through August 2026. This figure demonstrates the high level of public interaction with KAI's corporate digital channel and has also become a consideration in creating a simpler and more convenient information-access experience.

In addition to serving as a public information channel, kai.id continues to provide access to travel transactions. From January to July 2026, cumulative transactions for Main and Local Train services through the website reached 118,471 transactions, or 0.71%. Throughout January–December 2025, the number of transactions through the website reached 347,315 transactions, or 1.34%.

With its new look, kai.id has been developed as an information gateway for KAI, connecting various information about the company's products, services, business units, and programs on a single website. The information structure has been organized more clearly, allowing visitors to access the information they need through a more streamlined flow.

The navigation is enhanced through a Mega Menu that displays services, business units, and corporate information in a single interaction. With this structure, the public can explore various sections of kai.id more simply and efficiently.

“We want people who visit kai.id to be able to quickly find the information they need. When visitor numbers reach tens of millions, ease of navigation becomes an important part of the quality of KAI's communication with the public,” said Bobby.

Information access is also expanded through the availability of both Indonesian and English. On the previous website, information was available in Indonesian. The bilingual feature on the new kai.id provides broader access for international audiences, partners, academics, researchers, and stakeholders seeking information about KAI.

KAI has also strategically placed Call to Action (CTA) features across various sections of the website. These features help visitors access subdomains, subsidiaries, and various KAI platforms more quickly, allowing users to move from one piece of information to a related service more conveniently.

The scope of information available on kai.id has also become more comprehensive, ranging from Access by KAI, freight transportation, technology, assets and commercial opportunities, sustainability, to heritage. With this update, KAI has introduced a dedicated heritage page that was not previously available, allowing the public to explore information about railway history and heritage in a dedicated space.

Information is presented through a more modern design, clearer content hierarchy, and expanded space for displaying corporate data and documents. The development is intended to make it easier for the public, media, academics, researchers, partners, and stakeholders to access corporate information according to their needs.

Bobby said the development of kai.id follows the World-Class Digital Experience concept, featuring a modern, clean, and professional appearance, with information presented in a more structured manner. This direction is in line with KAI's transformation to improve the quality of digital interactions while strengthening transparency and public trust.

“For us, the quality of a digital channel determines how easily the public can get to know KAI. We want kai.id to develop into a credible, easy-to-navigate information reference that can reach an increasingly wider audience,” Bobby concluded.
