Three Years of Operations, LRT Jabodebek Serves 75.9 Million Customers and Strengthens Urban Mobility

Three years since its inaugural journey on August 28, 2023, LRT Jabodebek has continued to grow into a part of the mobility of people in Jakarta, Cibubur, and Bekasi. As of August 27, 2026, LRT Jabodebek has served 75,937,674 customers in supporting various activities of urban communities.

Vice President Corporate Communication KAI Anne Purba stated that the growth of LRT Jabodebek reflects the increasing role of rail-based transportation in supporting people's mobility needs.

“For three years, LRT Jabodebek has become part of people's journeys. Every journey served carries out people's activities, from work and education to various other activities,” said Anne.

Since its operation, LRT Jabodebek customers have continued to grow. In 2023, LRT Jabodebek served 4,562,673 customers, increasing to 21,055,870 customers in 2024, and reaching 28,816,787 customers in 2025. Meanwhile, from January 1 to August 27, 2026, LRT Jabodebek has served 21,502,344 customers.

Modern Technology and Sustainable Operations

LRT Jabodebek operates Grade of Automation Level 3 (GoA3) technology, which supports train journeys through a modern automatic control system with the support of operational personnel to maintain service safety and reliability.

“LRT Jabodebek is one of the achievements of national transportation through the application of modern technology developed by Indonesian talents, which continues to be developed to provide an increasingly better travel experience for the public,” said Anne.

In terms of sustainability, LRT Jabodebek implements Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles through resource management and service quality improvement. One of these is through the Automatic Train Wash Plant (ATWP), which enables the treatment and reuse of water from train washing for use in subsequent washing processes.

Two Lines Connect Urban Activities

LRT Jabodebek operates through two main lines that support public mobility:

Cibubur Line (Dukuh Atas–Harjamukti) recorded 113.8 million customer activity volumes during the operational period from August 28, 2023–August 27, 2026. This line connects central Jakarta activities with the Cawang, TMII, Kampung Rambutan, Ciracas, and Harjamukti areas.

Bekasi Line (Dukuh Atas–Jatimulya) recorded 119.7 million customer activity volumes during the same period. This line connects the Halim, Jatibening, Cikunir, West Bekasi, and Jatimulya areas, which are developing as residential and economic activity areas.

Based on total customer activity (Volume In and Volume Out), the five stations with the highest volumes are:

1. Dukuh Atas Station – 22,902,568 volume
2. Harjamukti Station – 17,626,923 volume
3. Kuningan Station – 13,696,649 volume
4. Cikoko Station – 12,281,605 volume
5. Pancoran Station – 10,091,800 volume

Anne stated that service quality improvements will continue to be carried out to meet the mobility needs of the public.

“Customer trust is an important part of LRT Jabodebek's journey. We will continue to maintain service quality, improve travel reliability, and present innovations that meet the needs of the public,” concluded Anne.

The three-year journey of LRT Jabodebek has become part of the development of urban transportation in Indonesia through technological innovation, sustainable services, and connectivity that supports public activities.
