PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) respects the legal proceedings related to the accident involving KA Argo Bromo Anggrek and KA 5568A Commuter Line in Bekasi Timur.

From the beginning of the incident response, KAI has cooperated in supporting the safety investigation conducted by the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) as well as the legal proceedings handled by the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya).

Vice President of Corporate Communication KAI Anne Purba said that KAI respects the authority of each institution and ensures that all information and requirements related to the handling of the incident are supported in accordance with applicable regulations.

“KAI respects and supports the processes carried out by KNKT and Polda Metro Jaya. We will continue to cooperate so that each process can proceed professionally and in accordance with the respective authorities,” said Anne.

Regarding the legal proceedings, KAI also respects every stage currently underway and upholds the presumption of innocence. At the same time, KAI ensures that employees who were carrying out their duties at the time of the incident receive company support while going through the legal process.

“As a company, we have a responsibility to support our employees who are undergoing legal proceedings. This support is part of the company’s responsibility toward its employees, while also respecting the legal process that is currently underway,” said Anne.

The support includes legal assistance and other assistance required by employees throughout the process in accordance with applicable regulations. KAI also ensures that employees receive adequate information and support as they navigate each stage of the legal proceedings.

“We want to ensure that our employees do not face this process alone. However, company support does not mean preempting or determining the legal process. We respect the process and leave legal assessment and authority to the competent institutions,” said Anne.

On the safety side, KAI, together with the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation as the regulator, continues to follow up on the safety recommendations issued by KNKT as part of the evaluation and improvement of operational systems.

“Safety is a shared responsibility and cannot be compromised. We use every safety recommendation as an evaluation point to improve systems, strengthen human resource readiness, and enhance operational reliability. For us, every evaluation must result in improvements that can be reflected in operations,” said Anne.

KAI will continue to coordinate with regulators and relevant parties, support the ongoing legal proceedings, provide assistance to employees in accordance with company regulations, and follow up on KNKT recommendations to strengthen railway safety.
