
Today, KAI Operates 9 Additional Trains, Strengthening Mobility Options for the Public
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) operates nine additional train trips on September 8, 2026, to provide travel options for the public in line with increasing mobility needs.
The operation of these additional trains covers several travel routes to and from various cities, including Malang, Solo, Yogyakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, and Jakarta. KAI continues to monitor public travel needs and prepare services according to operational conditions in the field.
KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba said that the operation of additional trains takes into account operational readiness, availability of facilities, and railway travel safety aspects.
“KAI continues to adjust its travel services according to public needs while maintaining operational readiness and safety. The presence of these additional trains provides customers with more diverse travel options,” said Anne.
The nine additional train trips operated on September 8, 2026, are as follows:
1. Additional Malang–Gambir Train, Malang–Gambir route, departing at 20:15 WIB.
2. Additional Solo–Gambir Train, Solo–Gambir route, departing at 17:20 WIB.
3. Additional Gambir–Solo Train, Gambir–Solo route, departing at 07:10 WIB.
4. Additional Yogyakarta–Gambir Train, Yogyakarta–Gambir route, departing at 22:00 WIB.
5. Additional Gambir–Yogyakarta Train, Gambir–Yogyakarta route, departing at 11:50 WIB.
6. Additional Semarang Tawang–Gambir Train, Semarang Tawang–Gambir route, departing at 20:15 WIB.
7. Additional Gambir–Semarang Tawang Train, Gambir–Semarang Tawang route, departing at 11:20 WIB.
8. Additional Gambir–Surabaya Pasarturi Train, Gambir–Surabaya Pasarturi route, departing at 12:40 WIB.
9. Additional Surabaya Pasarturi–Gambir Train, Surabaya Pasarturi–Gambir route, departing at 11:00 WIB.
Anne encouraged customers to prepare for their journeys properly by checking departure schedules and ticket availability through the Access by KAI application, the official KAI website, or other official sales channels.
“KAI encourages customers to arrive at the station early, check travel information before departure, and follow staff instructions so that the journey can take place safely and comfortably,” said Anne.
In connection with volcanic activity at Mount Anak Krakatau and the potential exposure to volcanic ash in certain areas, KAI advises customers in affected areas to wear masks when necessary and maintain their health during the journey.
KAI continues to monitor operational conditions and coordinate with relevant parties to ensure that train journeys continue to operate safely and in a controlled manner.
