PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) reported that Access by KAI is increasingly becoming the primary digital ecosystem for customers in planning, booking, and managing train journeys. Throughout the first semester of 2026, Access by KAI handled 17,009,374 transactions for Mainline and Local Trains, equivalent to 76.34% of total transactions across ticket sales channels for Mainline and Local Trains.

In terms of customer volume, Access by KAI served 24,544,468 customers or 73.68% of the total 33,313,364 customer volume across Mainline and Local Train sales channels. This achievement indicates that customers are increasingly accustomed to using KAI’s official services to fulfill their travel needs from the planning stage.

Vice President Corporate Communication KAI Anne Purba stated that Access by KAI has been developed as a travel ecosystem that provides broader convenience for customers.

“Access by KAI is developed as a digital ecosystem for railway travel. Customers can search schedules, book tickets, make payments, manage tickets, and obtain travel information through a single official KAI application,” said Anne.

The performance of Access by KAI is also supported by the growth in customer mobility across the KAI Group in the first semester of 2026. From January to June 2026, KAI Group served 258,993,359 customers, an increase of 7.55% compared to 240,805,920 customers in the first semester of 2025.

Customer growth occurred across several services. KAI’s Intercity and Local Trains served 29,858,267 customers, up 8.72% compared to 27,463,555 customers in the first semester of 2025. KAI Commuter served 204,151,200 customers, up 6.58% compared to 191,540,583 customers in the same period of the previous year.

LRT Jabodebek served 16,018,911 customers, up 22.84% compared to 13,040,403 customers in the first semester of 2025. Whoosh served 2,938,834 customers, the Makassar Pare-Pare Train served 172,011 customers, KAI Airport Rail Link served 3,482,897 customers, and KAI Wisata served 164,743 customers.

Anne explained that increasing customer mobility must be supported by digital services that are increasingly easy to use. Through Access by KAI, customers can access bookings for Intercity Trains, Local Trains, LRT Jabodebek, Commuter Line, Airport Rail Link, as well as High-Speed Rail. The application is also equipped with a Connecting Train feature that helps customers find connecting travel combinations.

For ticket management, customers can use features such as Check & Add Ticket, schedule changes, ticket cancellations, ticket rescheduling in accordance with applicable provisions, as well as e-boarding passes. These features help customers manage their journeys more practically without having to always visit ticket counters.

Access by KAI also provides various supporting travel features, including Trip Planner, Live Tracking, Face Recognition registration, Railpoin, RailFood, taxi and bus integration, KAIPay, PPOB, as well as entertainment services such as EoB and Premium Entertainment. These features expand the function of Access by KAI from a ticket booking application into a travel ecosystem connected to customer needs before, during, and after the journey.

One of the latest features strengthened by KAI is Train Details. Through this feature, customers can view detailed information on train journeys and services before selecting a schedule. More comprehensive information helps customers determine their travel based on time, service, and comfort.

KAI has also introduced the Female Seat Map to assist female customers in selecting seats by providing information on other female passengers on the seat map, in accordance with applicable provisions. This feature is part of enhancing the customer experience in choosing seats more comfortably.

As of 30 June 2026, the cumulative number of registered Access by KAI users reached 30,449,049 users. Throughout January–June 2026, there were 3,154,132 new registrations, up 3.77% compared to 3,039,456 registrations in the same period of 2025. KAI also recorded 9,058,935 active users as of 30 June 2026 and 4,893,743 Premium Members or 16.07% of total registered users. The cumulative number of Access by KAI downloads reached 41,011,320 downloads.

According to Anne, the growth of Access by KAI users is an important asset for KAI in strengthening data-driven services and customer needs. Customer feedback from various channels continues to be used to improve booking flows, enhance application reliability, and introduce features that are relevant to public travel patterns.

“Access by KAI will continue to be strengthened as a railway travel ecosystem that is easy to use, informative, secure, and closely aligned with customer needs. KAI will continue to improve its services gradually so that the customer experience becomes better from planning the journey to arriving at the destination,” Anne concluded.
