KAI Successfully Served 1,405,963 Customers During the Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijri and Pancasila Day Long Holiday
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) successfully served 1,405,963 customers during the Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijri long holiday period, which coincided with Pancasila Day, from 26 May to 1 June 2026. This achievement reflects the public's strong trust in rail transportation as the preferred mode of travel for various purposes, including homecoming, holidays, family visits, and business trips.
Customer travel patterns during this period showed an interesting characteristic. Unlike the typical travel pattern, which is usually concentrated on one or two specific days, public mobility during this long weekend was distributed more evenly throughout the holiday period. This is reflected in the daily customer volume, which consistently remained above 175,000 customers per day and continued to increase toward the end of the holiday.
Daily occupancy during the 26 May–1 June 2026 period:
- 26 May 2026: 214,349 customers
- 27 May 2026: 155,110 customers
- 28 May 2026: 175,526 customers
- 29 May 2026: 191,849 customers
- 30 May 2026: 214,142 customers
- 31 May 2026: 218,289 customers
- 1 June 2026: 236,698 customers
The data indicates that the public took advantage of the flexibility offered by the long holiday to choose travel times that best suited their individual needs. Departure flows were not concentrated on a single day, while return travel also took place gradually until the final day of the holiday. The highest customer volume occurred on 1 June 2026, indicating that many customers chose to maximize their holiday before returning to their daily activities the following day.
Customer travel distribution is also reflected in the most popular routes during the period. Cities renowned for tourism, education, culture, and economic activities became the primary destinations for travelers.
Top 10 favorite routes during the long holiday period based on customer volume:
1. Gambir–Yogyakarta: 18,514 customers

The dominance of the Jakarta–Yogyakarta, Jakarta–Semarang, Jakarta–Bandung, and Surabaya–Yogyakarta routes demonstrates the increasingly diverse travel purposes of the public. Some customers traveled to tourism and cultural destinations, while others used the holiday to return to their hometowns, visit family, attend social events, or simply spend quality time with loved ones.
The high travel volume on these routes also highlights the strong connectivity between cities that have long served as centers of education, economic activity, government, and tourism. Rail transportation continues to connect these diverse travel needs through an extensive network serving many regions across Java.
