Cikarang Commuter Line Services Continue to Recover, KAI Keeps Safety as Top Priority
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) continues the operational recovery process for Cikarang Line Commuter Line travel so that public mobility can proceed increasingly smoothly and safely. A number of operational security measures are still being carried out amidst ongoing track inspection processes on the Bekasi to Cikarang line.
During the recovery process, KAI continues to apply train travel speed restrictions at several points, with speeds ranging from 60–80 km/h. This policy is implemented to support track inspection processes, maintain travel safety, and ensure operations remain under control during the recovery period.
KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba stated that safety remains the main focus throughout every stage of operational recovery.
"We understand that this condition impacts travel delays, particularly on the Cikarang Commuter Line, and we express our sincere apologies to our customers. Speed restrictions are still necessary so that the track inspection and operational recovery processes can proceed smoothly while prioritizing train travel safety,"
KAI recorded that the operational performance of the Cikarang Line Commuter Line has shown steady positive progress from April 30 to May 10, 2026. On April 30, departure punctuality was recorded at 50% and arrival punctuality at 44%, with average delays reaching 25.7 minutes for departures and 30.9 minutes for arrivals. By May 10, 2026, departure punctuality increased to 97% and arrival punctuality to 96%, while average delays dropped to 0.7 minutes for departures and 0.8 minutes for arrivals.
Operational improvements were also evident from the daily reduction in average travel delays. On May 3, 2026, average departure delays were still at 4.7 minutes and arrival delays at 6.4 minutes. Entering May 6, 2026, average delays fell to 1.1 minutes for departures and 1.3 minutes for arrivals, continuing to improve through May 10, 2026.
"The operational recovery of the Cikarang Line Commuter Line continues to show increasingly better progress. From initial conditions that were significantly impacted on April 30, travel punctuality rates have gradually improved up to May 10. KAI continues to conduct operational checks and security measures carefully so that customer journeys can take place safely and comfortably,"
In addition to focusing on operations, KAI continues its assistance for customers and families affected by the incident at Eastern Bekasi Station.
As of Monday (5/11) at 08:00 WIB, a total of 98 customers have been discharged to continue their recovery with their families. Meanwhile, 10 other customers remain under follow-up treatment at several hospitals, with their conditions monitored periodically.
"We continue to maintain communication with hospitals, families, and relevant parties to ensure every step of the assistance process goes smoothly. We continue to monitor customers who are still hospitalized, while those who have returned home also continue to receive support as needed,"
KAI also maintains its claim or reimbursement service for customers who paid for medical treatment independently. Submissions can be completed by attaching required documents including proof of travel, customer identification, receipts and itemized medical costs, a medical summary, and a copy of a bank account. Once documents are declared complete, the claim process will be coordinated with the insurance provider, with an estimated completion time of no later than 21 working days.

The service can be accessed via the Information Post at Eastern Bekasi Station or through the call center at 0812-9660-5747.
