KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba stated that travel during this long weekend is dominated by cities synonymous with tourism, culinary arts, and a holiday atmosphere that is comfortably accessible by train.

"Trains are still the public choice to enjoy long holidays because journeys feel more relaxed and practical. Customers can directly arrive at city centers and continue their tourism trips more easily," Anne said.

The high interest of customers is evident from favorite routes connecting tourism areas, cultural cities, and routes with distinct regional panoramas. Some journeys even become part of the holiday experience itself as they cross coasts, mountains, and heritage cities that are crowded during holiday seasons.

Here are the top 10 favorite Long-Distance and Local Trains during the long weekend period:
1. KA Airlangga route Pasarsenen–Surabaya Pasar Turi: 19,303 passengers
2. KA Serayu route Pasarsenen–Purwokerto: 17,313 passengers
3. KA Pandanwangi route Jember–Ketapang (Round Trip): 16,255 passengers
4. KA Putri Deli route Medan–Tanjung Balai (Round Trip): 16,252 passengers

9. KA Rajabasa route Tanjung Karang–Kertapati (Round Trip): 12,484 passengers
10. KA Parahyangan route Gambir–Bandung (Round Trip): 11,857 passengers

Routes toward Yogyakarta, Bandung, Purwokerto, Sukabumi, to Banyuwangi remain favorite choices for customers during the long weekend because they offer a different holiday atmosphere in each city. Yogyakarta and Bandung are chosen for culinary tourism, shopping, and heritage areas. Sukabumi is in demand due to its mountain atmosphere and natural destinations, while Banyuwangi serves as a gateway to various leading tourist destinations at the eastern tip of Java Island.

The Joglosemarkerto train journey is also in high demand as it connects several tourist and cultural cities in a single travel route, ranging from Yogyakarta, Solo, Semarang, Purwokerto, to Cilacap. In Sumatra, high interest in KA Putri Deli, Pariaman Ekspres, and Rajabasa shows active community mobility during the long holiday, whether for family tourism, intercity travel, or enjoying railway routes close to coastal areas and community activity centers.

Anne added that ticket sales are still ongoing and the public can adjust travel plans with available schedules across various routes.

"Customers can monitor ticket availability through the Access by KAI application or other official channels. There are still various travel choices available for people who want to enjoy the long holiday using trains," Anne concluded.
