The incident in the East Bekasi Station area brings deep sorrow. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) expresses its condolences to the deceased victims and their grieving families, as well as to the injured victims currently undergoing medical treatment.

Since the beginning of the incident, all efforts have been focused on handling the victims by prioritizing the safety and condition of every passenger. The evacuation and handling process was carried out carefully because there were victims requiring special handling. Every step was taken with medical and safety considerations so that the handling could run optimally. Medical teams, Basarnas, KAI, and all related parties worked in a coordinated manner in the field.

KAI ensures that all victims receive maximum care. All medical expenses for injured victims and funeral costs for deceased victims are fully covered by insurance and KAI.

Indonesian Deputy Minister of Transportation Suntana stated that the Ministry of Transportation together with KAI, Basarnas, and all related parties continue to carry out intensive handling. Information updates will be delivered regularly as a form of accountability to the public.

KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin stated that based on the latest data as of 08.45 Western Indonesia Time, 14 people were recorded dead. The deceased victims have been taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital for further identification processes. Meanwhile, 84 injured victims have received medical treatment in various health facilities.

Victim handling is carried out in a number of health facilities, including Bekasi Regional General Hospital, Bella Bekasi Hospital, Primaya Hospital, Mitra Plumbon Cibitung Hospital, Bakti Kartini Hospital, Siloam Hospital East Bekasi, Hermina Hospital, as well as Mitra Keluarga Hospital East and West Bekasi.

KAI also conveyed that customer belongings found at the scene have been secured and are currently at the lost and found service. The data collection and management of these items are carried out in coordination with the police to support the identification process and further handling needs.

KAI has set up an Emergency Response Post and Information Post at East Bekasi Station to help families obtain information regarding victims and passengers. Families can contact the KAI Contact Center 121.

For the time being, East Bekasi Station is not yet serving passenger boarding and alighting. Commuter Line travel is served up to Bekasi Station, while the downstream track has been opened for train operations with limited arrangements.

KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba once again expressed condolences and apologies to all customers and victims' families.

“We express our deepest condolences to the victims who passed away and the families left behind, as well as to all affected customers. Our focus right now is to ensure every victim receives the best care, families obtain the necessary information, and the entire process runs with caution and strong coordination.” Anne said.

For further information, the public can contact the KAI Contact Center 121 or the company's official channels.
