KAI Ensures All Medical and Funeral Expenses for Victims Are Fully Covered
In the incident, as many as 240 passengers of the Argo Bromo Anggrek train survived. Meanwhile, KRL passengers were recorded with 6 people dead and 80 people sustaining injuries who are currently receiving medical treatment.
Treatment is being carried out at several health facilities, including Bekasi Regional General Hospital, Bella Bekasi Hospital, Primaya Hospital, Mitra Plumbon Cibitung Hospital, Bakti Kartini Hospital, Siloam Hospital East Bekasi, Hermina Hospital, as well as Mitra Keluarga Hospital East and West Bekasi.
KAI expresses its commitment to providing full support to the victims and affected families, including ensuring that the handling process proceeds quickly, precisely, and in coordination with all related parties.
The evacuation process took a quite long time because there were victims who were still alive and required careful handling. Medical teams, Basarnas, and the KAI team continued to strive maximally to provide the best assistance to all victims.
In addition, KAI has also prepared an Information Post at East Bekasi Station to help families obtain information regarding passengers.
For the time being, East Bekasi Station is not serving passenger boarding and alighting, and KRL travel is only served up to Bekasi Station.
KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba expressed condolences and apologies to all customers.
"We convey our deepest condolences for this incident and apologies to all customers. Our current focus is ensuring that all victims receive the best care and continuing to coordinate with all parties so that the handling process runs well," she said.
