KAI Expresses Deepest Condolences, Ensures Every Victim Receives Proper Care and Families Receive Information

The incident that occurred in the Bekasi Timur Station area has brought profound sorrow. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) extends its deepest condolences to all victims and the affected families, while also recognizing the concern of customers who are awaiting information during this situation.

Since the beginning of the incident, all efforts have been focused on assisting the victims, with the highest priority placed on the safety and condition of every passenger, while ensuring that the evacuation and emergency response were carried out as quickly as possible.

All 240 passengers aboard the Argo Bromo Anggrek Train were successfully evacuated safely.

Meanwhile, response efforts have been focused on the affected Commuter Line passengers. Based on the latest provisional data as of 02:00 WIB, 4 people were confirmed deceased and 79 others sustained injuries. All victims have been evacuated and are receiving treatment at designated referral hospitals.

Medical treatment is being provided at several healthcare facilities, including Bekasi Regional General Hospital (RSUD Bekasi), Bella Bekasi Hospital, Primaya Hospital, Mitra Plumbon Cibitung Hospital, Bakti Kartini Hospital, Siloam Bekasi Timur Hospital, Hermina Hospital, and Mitra Keluarga Bekasi Timur and Bekasi Barat Hospitals.

During the response process, KAI, together with the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and medical teams, acted swiftly to provide assistance and ensure that all victims received medical treatment as quickly as possible.

Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi stated that the evacuation process was carried out to the fullest extent possible, prioritizing the safety of the victims and the rapid handling of the incident.

"We are fully focused on the evacuation and treatment of the victims. As for the cause of the incident, we are leaving the investigation to the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) so that it can be examined thoroughly," he said.

KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin stated that all victims had received medical treatment and that the evacuation process was continuing intensively.

"At present, 4 people have been confirmed deceased and 79 others have sustained injuries. All victims have been transported to hospitals to receive the best possible medical care. We continue to carry out evacuation efforts and ensure that every victim receives assistance as quickly as possible," he said.

He added that KAI has entrusted the investigation process to the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) to ensure that the cause of the incident can be comprehensively identified.

KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba expressed condolences and apologized to all customers.

"We extend our deepest condolences for this incident and sincerely apologize to all our customers. Our current focus is to ensure that every victim receives the best possible care while continuing to coordinate with all relevant parties so that the response process proceeds smoothly," she said.

As of 01:04 WIB, the down line on the Bekasi–Tambun railway section has been reopened for train operations.

Meanwhile, the up line remains under evacuation and recovery efforts at the scene. KAI continues to expedite the recovery process so that train operations can gradually return to normal while maintaining safety as the highest priority.

Alongside the ongoing response efforts, KAI has adjusted Commuter Line operating patterns in accordance with track conditions to allow services to resume gradually.

KAI has also established an Information Post at Bekasi Timur Station to assist families in obtaining information regarding passengers.

During the evacuation process, passengers affected by train cancellations are entitled to a full ticket refund, with refund applications accepted for up to seven days.

For passengers of the Argo Bromo Anggrek Train operating on the Surabaya Pasarturi–Gambir route, KAI has arranged onward transportation by bus to Gambir Station.

All Long-Distance Train services departing from Gambir Station and Pasarsenen Station have been temporarily suspended to support the response efforts and ensure operational safety.
