KA Blora Jaya Grows 72.76% in Q1 2026, A Journey Connecting the Hopes of Many People
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) recorded an increase in passenger numbers for the Blora Jaya train service on the Cepu–Semarang round-trip route. During the period from January to March 2026, the Blora Jaya train served 53,826 passengers, a 72.76% increase compared to 31,158 passengers in the same period of 2025.
This growth goes hand in hand with the continuously increasing mobility needs of the public. Travel becomes part of steps taken to work, study, and achieve aspirations in the city of Semarang. With fares around Rp65,000, the Blora Jaya train provides a more affordable travel option for many people.
KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba stated that this service is closely connected to the daily lives of the community.
"Every journey carries a different purpose. Some set off to work, pursue an education, or seek better opportunities in the city," said Anne.
Along its route, the Blora Jaya train connects areas such as Cepu, Randublatung, Doplang, Kradenan, Jambon, Ngrombo, up to Semarang Poncol and Semarang Tawang. For part of the community, traveling to Semarang is a gateway to educational access, employment, and various economic activities.
"One point that holds its own story is Wadu Station. This station is located in an area far from public transportation access. Here, the Blora Jaya train is the only train that stops to serve boarding and alighting passengers," revealed Anne.
Many journeys begin from this small station. There are university students heading to the city to pursue knowledge, workers seeking a livelihood, and people traveling for family needs. Every departure carries hopes to be achieved.
The presence of the Blora Jaya train makes journeys that previously felt distant feel much closer. Predictable travel times and affordable costs help the public manage their daily activities with greater certainty. Sustained mobility provides space for the community to continue growing.
Wadu Station itself carries historical footprints as part of the line built by Samarang–Joana Stoomtram Maatschappij (SJS), which was once used to transport forest products and oil from Cepu. To this day, the station remains alive alongside the activities of the surrounding community.
Amidst stretches of rice fields, the atmosphere at Wadu Station feels serene. Passengers wait for the train while enjoying open views that form part of the local residents' daily life.
Anne added that every train service is always connected to the lives of the surrounding community.
"We want this journey to continuously exist as part of the steps people take in carrying out their activities, unlocking opportunities, and continuing their hopes," Anne concluded.
